Incidentally,if anybody wishes to know the circumstances of John's death,go to the Daily Mail website.The report is still there.Encephalitis is a pernicious and potentially deadly illness.But with heightened awareness it can be contained. Recovery is difficult,but possible. The encephalitis society is a magnificent organisation.They deserve all the support they can get.

Glad to know Tom has joined the team at Fazackerly.Wish he had been there when our son John Mealey died from encephalitis in'96.The hospital admitted late diagnosis/treatment at John's inquest despite the 1st doctor to examine him suggesting encephalitis.Prompt administration of the drug Acyclovir would have aved John's life.He never even had a brain scan until it was too late. Tom may have been recruited after John died.We don't know.Iwon't help us but we hope it may save others. J Mealey.
