bal thankray holds jinnah responsible for the massacre but he fails to understand that Nehru was in the position of preventing it by sending in the army to stop it. But Nehru never did, and newly born pakistan didn't had enough resources and army personnels to stop the massacre. Fatimah Jinnah asked Lady Mountbatten to request Nehru to send army and stop the massacre but she refused to do that too.
