First song I heard of Morbid Angel. My mind was blown by pure evil and violence in song! Instantly I became a MA fan... To be honest Abominations was my only album then because I didn`t liked how Vincent sounds. Today I like all their albums (except that pathetic new album), but Abominations is number 1.

This is the first time I've ever heard of a vocalist also playing drums, they're almost always either just solely vocals, playing bass or guitar.

I would say I prefer Evil Spells by a hair but Mike Browning's vocals are better than Vincent's. I think there are a couple musical differences here as well.

Damn, I though Trey was on vocals on this. Now my appreciation of this album rises even more. Beyond the piccolo toms... I've always loved piccolo toms on drums... on this Abominations demo and Manowar's Battle Hymns piccolo toms make the difference... never live since then from either band.

i think this version is better, evil spells is so fuckin slow(but is great to) ,this version is most brutal ,in my opinion this album had the best sound of morbid angel ,the other albums of morbid angel are great ,but this fucking sound is just incredible

OK so Pete Sandoval is amazing as a drummer but Mike did admirably on drums AND vocals here and on the 1st Nocturnus album.
