I think I have this same one... I ordered it a few months ago... I think the only difference is that the colors in the center column are in line with the rest of the colors, as opposed to the bottom four being snuggled together... I have no clue how to tell if it is the same because like this it has no brand name associated with it!!

I bought the shimmer palette from Coastal Scents and let me tell you... Initially I was TRILLED! Soooo many colors and sooo highly pigmented! They are very blend-able and just good quality, inexpensive makeup. BUT the drawback for me is that I have super sensitive eyes AND I wear contacts so they just made my eyes very irritated and itchy and it was no fun :( so I gave it to my sister. At lease it wasn't a complete loss.

I've really been wanting to get the 88 palettes and the 120 palette, my main concern is the possible lead content of some of the colors they use. do you know off hand if they have had any complaints about that? or FDA warnings?

Oh I did the whole rub gold on eyeshadow to test for lead at home thing, and yeah it turns black. but it did it with all my eyeshadow. even my estee lauder. I found out it's becuase of the oxidization so to anyone who heard to try that.... don't bother it won't help. if your really worried have it tested by the pros.

Yeah, but the ring has to be either 14-24 K gold for it to work. (but it's always going to be a false negative)

So like you I am not really worried anymore, you have been using them and had no problems thus far. I figure I can use them as well without any worries.

Heck it's probably more dangerous to drink the tap water where i live than buy that makeup =D so I am just waiting till payday...

Coastal Scents products are very dangerous to your health. I had the palettes tested in a lb the lead content is in DANGEROUS LEVELS and their was a presence of bacterias on the shadows which again are very dangerous to your health and should not be purchased.

there actually is lead in the product... there was a lot of controversy about this issue and i contacted the manufacturer (who is based in China) and they confirmed the lead content is 20 ppm (parts per million). However, this is a very low amount.

yes its fine. 20 ppm is pretty low, and as vintageortacky stated, lead is even in water. it occurs naturally in soil and is present in the air 2. because of this it is pretty hard to guarantee any cosmetic product to be totally lead free. the concern with lead is mostly linked to ingestion. but adults only absorb about 1% of lead that comes in contact with their skin. This whole lead in CS palettes is hyped up for no reason... if humans survived the lead paint crisis im sure this is nothing lol

No one can list lead as an ingredient that would be against all health laws. There are leads that are found in pigments and certain ingredients for example bismuth the main content in Bare Minerals this is a form of arsenic lead that occurs in nature in the soil it is a low lead content and is commonly found but this causes breaks outs and irritated skin. The overall ingredients in CS contains high forms of lead content that can cause cancer etc. The only test is in a lab
