Ich als großer Fan der Battlefield-Serie muss sagen, dass ich in allen neu designten Maps von BF2 eine Verschlechterung sehe. Vor allem Wake Island, die schon immer eine meiner Meinung nach super Map war, ist jetzt total grau und viel schlechter geworden, sonst gefällt mir Battlefield 3 aber alles in allem gut! :)

I don't get people complaining. I played mw3 it was what I expected I hated it. I bought my first battlefield game. I loved it as it was exactly what u expected and more. Its really about personal preference rather than a "community feeling" just like I want quickscopers out in cod others want them in. It's not a cod community. Its the portion of the cod community.

@XxiPaKMaNixX People keep making this massive damn distinction between the two, when they both on a scale of FPS games, are very much alike. Yeah BF3 has destructible landscape, bullet drop and all that, but they are still very similar. One of the old Duke Nukem games, or Quake games were examples of FPS's that were a lot different. Now it seems that we have the same game just changed a little every time.

@JakeJohnRogers People keep making this distinction because BF and CoD haven't always been that alike. Every CoD title after the second one felt the same to me. After BF 2142 that series went down the casual road and here we have it, people are posting that BF and CoD are very much alike. It's simply a shame.

I am happy to announce that DICE used the SMURFS to design Wake Island and Sharqi Peninsula. EA and DICE have made it their new policy to design games for insects who see in ultraviolet and that is the reason we all see BLUE!!!!!

Strike at Karkand looks way better. Everyones complaining about there is not enough color in the newer versions, well they definitely amped up the color and detail on that map.

Gulf of Oman is a real fun map, the BF3 version gives it a more modern desert feel than BF2

Sharqi Peninsula is also fun, the BF3 version looks better, and has more buildings, detail, and places to take cover.

Wake Island is awesome, the BF3 version makes it look like a deadly war zone, rather than a fun, colorful island.

@UnbelievEble1000 For the fans of the old feeling (from BF2 and/or BC2) all that's needed is to set warmer colors and saturate it a bit (can be done in Hydravision if you have an ATI-card). I almost had and orgasm playing Grand Bazaar whith sunset-colors and the water spots on the ground looked a bit goldish.

Needless to say my K/D was crap but it was truly beautyful and there was so much to look at.

Warm colours (like BF2) allow for a more relaxed view and also allows one to discern more easily the enemy. Wake Island is basically so much blue and grey tinted that it strains the eyes.

To complain about the colours is not bitching. Surely a comparison evidences the superior colours of BF2. DICE thinks we are insects that see only in ultraviolet!

@utubedude42 Unlike you; I do not play on CONSOLES and certainly do not play COD games. I paid money for a product that fell short of its advertised claims. EA and DICE have lost a loyal customer.

Also as a consumer I have every right to complain about a product that does not meet the specifications expected by the buyers.

The map is already diferent with the diferent engine/texture upgrade. There wasn't absolutely no reason to change the art style and tone, I don't know why DICE does stuff like this. They actually ruined the art and visual appealing of once pleasant looking maps. For the overwhelming majority of the BF community, this change wasn't well received, its a fact.

The color grading in Sharqi, Wake and Karkand is awful. I really hate the high contrast, desaturated look in the new maps. Gulf of Oman is the only exception. But really, it's quite sad that in 2011 they can't get the colors right. It's the whole art style of Battlefield 3 that I dislike. The gritty, cold feel of it isn't appealing at all. They even ditched the loading screen soundtrack for some useless ambient. Wake up DICE, wake up and step outside for once, real life doesn't look like this.
