The only studio version of this MK song is Jeff Healey's version. It is utterly incredible, and features MK near the end of the solo. A duel which I regret to inform that MK actually loses. That's how good JH version is.
Jeff Healey and Mark Knoplfler should´ve played more together, both have such soulful style and sound so good together. I just "rediscovered" Jeff´s music and just can´t get enough of listening to him. Just like I can´t get enough of MK and Dire Straits.
Jeff Healey is the most influential singer of the last 30 yrs.Every twenty yr old guy with a guitar that sings blues nowadays uses at least some of his phrasing in their singing. The reason he`s not as influential as a guitar plyr is because of his unorthodox style. I mean, how do you mimic that? You can hear his tone and feel of playing when you listen to players like Jonny Lang and Kenny w. Sheppard, but I think you`d have to start playing your guitar "steel guitar style" to do it.
Mark Knopfler wrote this song. The second guitar you can hear in the song sound to me very Mark like, dos anybody know if he played on the recording of this song?
god bless him he was a great musician and recording artist.......pretty good for a Canadian just kidding!!!!! whats with the poodle perm though you should never do that to a blind man!!!!
I really like this one..I also suggest you check out his cover of "While my guitar gently weeps"..
