I love the song, but what is she saying? It sounds like the love of her life she thought she would be with forever has abandoned her, but what is "bloody tears for the blind man?" It sounds like an Oedipal reference (ripped his own eyes out after discovering he had killed his father and slept with his mother). Maybe it is just a comment on having made a horrible mistake in love.
