Do you have tips for practicing CCW draws? just got my CCL here in SW Colorado. Gets pretty hot in the summer, usually I wear a button down shirt and carry IWB (Remora series 11) at 5 o'clock. It's hard for me to get my shirt out of the way. Any tips sir?
@bradleywalters1 Get to a bookstore and read/buy "Gun Digest guide to Concealed Carry", or something like that, by Massad Ayoob. Practice those moves, and you'll be good. A common trick is to sweep along the waist with your thumb, tracing a line to right atop the handle of the weapon - this allows your hand to just slip right onto/down onto the handle, while already having your shirt pulled back.
Let me try and help here. As soon as you draw that gun it should go on target and if it was that close then you should have shot from the hip not waiting until the gun is fully elevated with your arms locked out.

If your threat is real close do not extend keep your pistol tight. Either just above the holster using the (Speed Rock) or come to the chest area and fire from there. Extending toward someone close can risk a takeaway. One thing I do using the same basic gear Miller is using is place a half roll of pennies or anything else with a little weight, in the front pocket of my coat. Then when you swing the coat it moves well for you to access your pistol. As always good vid Miller!!

If you are in something like a bank robbery situation where you are in a group of people with hands up, this drill will help with your reactions.

Carry in the kidney location with an inside the waistband holster, and wear baggy clothes like thick t-shirts and button down shirts (or something equivalent).
@cbr6864 If you don't have a big gut, appendix location works great (1-2 o'clock). I find this works great for me, and my wife always has to ask if I have my gun. Search "appendix IWB"

Nice and smooth, good job... but you strike me as someone who has never took incoming fire. Why?
1) There is no reason to fire two clips while standing motionless unless you're in a range competition ...because a paper target doesn't fire back.
2) hands up? Anyone that close would have drilled you in the .9 seconds it took you to flap up your huge jacket. Which brings me to #3...
3) Winter jacket = unzipped? Might as well have a shoulder holster! Way faster.

try hip shooting at an outdoor range with targets with in 10ft this will help develop quik reaction accuracy with maintaining safe stand off
