Im torn. I just watched this film and really enjoyed it. Except the ending to a degree. All throughout this movie I was puzzled, thinking maybe max was a psychopath and suffering from dual identity. I think it would have been cool if that were the case and we discover in the end that Max was indeed the assassin after-all and Vincent was a figment of his psychotic imaginings. Oh well. It was still a good flick.

This is one of the very best thrillers ever made. Tom Cruise was exceptional in his role as Vincent. This is more than just a simple "assassin hijacks a cab" type of movie. This is a very deep, dark study of two people who are at opposite ends of the scale, and are thrown together in one night. Michael Mann has produced a modern masterpiece with this. The depth of characters in this film are worthy of any good film-study. Cruise and Mann should have gotten an Oscar for this.

Jamie Foxx, Jada Pinkett Smith and Mark Ruffalo were great too. I don't know why but this movie reminds me a little bit "The Brave One" with Jodie Foster. Final scenes were intriguing and just awesome
