  • I would see a doctor, sounds like you pulled something. Many people do really heavy weights on traps and its easy to injure yourself if you dont use very strict and slow form.

  • your fucked just jerk offff

  • do you really have to show your ugly theet when you make those stupid push up???

  • hey please add me as a friend id like to send u a message. Thanks scooby.

  • Sorry, I dont use the youtube messaging so I dont want to add anyone as a friend. I cant answer individual training questions for insurance reasons, sorry.

  • so you have to do it while your in pain or until you feel pain?

  • scooby1961 is cool

  • "sqeeeeeeeeeeeeze"

  • tight

  • Stupidest fuckin' thing I've eve rseen.

  • squeeeeeeeeeze, jajaja it sounds very funny

  • i havent been able to reach my pushup limit in a long time ( idk what it is), because my right elbow always aches from the weight even before i start any motion, like the outer side of the actual bone is tender to the touch afterward.

  • hello scooby um im 5"7 and about 100 pounds and 15 but i cant gain weight i eat like a pig nothing happens but i have just started your push up techniques can u give me tips

  • Hello scooby, I really enjoy all of your videos and do your pushup workouts religiously. My girlfriend, after seeing my interest, recently bought me the perfect pushup product for my birthday and I was just wondering if you have an opinion on this thing (I have yet to open it in case its a waste of money). I know that anything you work hard at can bring results, but how do you feel it matches up to your workouts?

  • Scooby already gave his opinion of that product in an above comment.

  • it is possible to ask you some kind of personal question?

  • fagot

  • so is it normal for your elbows to hurt when your doing tricep training? i did post a comment asking about it but no one anwerd lol, i just got a thumb down thing :(. Im pretty serious about bodybuilding, i would like to know more about tricep training because i cant seem to get myself to do them :S

  • By saying that your elbows hurt, do you mean the actual joints? It's normal to feel fatigue in muscles, but if you experience pain in your joints, you're probably doing something wrong.

  • yes its my actual joing, and its on all of the tricep worouts i have tried, everything else is fine, i use the same form that scooby has done in his videos

  • LMAO at 50 seconds he sounds weird like he's fuckin or sumtin

  • I'm a woman, but I was wondering how often and for how long you would need to exercise to be as toned as you are?

  • so u can look at my pics and see what u thank but anyways im wanting to see what i really would look like if i workout tho thanks man

  • as you can tell, scooby is pretty busy. i can help you with lifting and nutrtion if you want. hit me up if you want me to help.

  • i can do about 40 push up in a rep but it did make me sore but i did about 20 of these and lol it's been 2 days and im still feeling but idk man i want to be pretty big about like u r but idk how to do things so can u help me on what to do to start and how much and when to do things and im poor so i dont have money to get wights or nottin and i don't workout so i need to do it from start i want to look good and ppl thank i work out but i don't but they say i still look like i do

  • nice hat

  • I HATE YOU SCOOBY!

  • lol why?

  • Coz he is ugly and home workout is for loosers!

  • YOU are ugly, and maybe u should workout as u look like a whimp

  • look his face...like to start poopin.

  • squeeeeeeze!

nice tips man, will try it!

  • nice lawn gnome

  • might be a stupid question, but whats a better way to start off?

so if your overwight, lose the weight first, THEN do abdominals excersises,

or would it be better to go straight into the excersises and would you get the same result?

  • I would do a "full frontal assault", work on them all at once. Get your nutrition in order, do your cardio, do your ab exercises, and start a resistance training program. All these help you in losing bodyfat.

  • thanks for your response, so basically eating healthy and regular training. may sound ignorant but i have little time to go to the gym as i am living an awfully busy lifestyle at the moment, so my only time for working out is in the privacy of my own home. im struggling coming up with a traning scheme, and it might be too much of an ask but if you have the time could you possibly give me some guidelines to go by. for example 20 pushups and 20 sit ups etc etc ...

    thanks again

  • Scooby offers workout plans on his website. For me they worked very well.

  • no because u have to lose the fat off if you wanted to actually get abs that can be seen no matter how much abdominal excercise u do the fat will cover them up so its best to do some sports first burn up the fat go on a healthy diet be4 u do ab exercises

  • Excellent combination of the traditional push-up and isometric conditioning

  • Thanks a lot for these exercises they are great.

  • clown...

  • scooby y is it every time i do bench press it hurts my 4 arm and triceps?

  • Either your technique is wrong or you are using too much weight. Or both. Or you may have a medical condition that may need treatment.

Check with a doctor, because if it gets worse or chronic you could be out of the fitness loop for a very, very long time.

  • i can hear the slime in his mouth squelchin.

  • I don't quite understand. You say like sqeeze your hands together but when your doing the pushup do you try and pull fists closer together but not actually do it?

I feel abit thick but i dont get the sqeezeing bit when your hands are 3 feet away from each other?

  • You ACT like you squeeze a ball. This has now been explained two times: It is an isometric exercise. To get the hang of it, try popping an actual rubberball, as Scooby suggested. That is the strain you should feel while doing the squeezers.

  • hiiii!!! i have a doubt, i cant run 30min 7 days each week like scooby says in his webpage, but i do surf like 4 days a week more or less 3 hours each day and then i run like 1 or 2 days 20-30min, thats good cardio?? surf is good cardio or not?

  • I get this question a lot, is "X" good cardio. You can measure this for yourself. The target heart rate for losing weight is well established and is available all over the internet. Measure your pulse, if it stays in the recommended weight loss range for at least 30min then it is good cardio, otherwise its not. Simple as that.

  • Having lost weight I might add: staying in the reccommended pulse range is not that important, just don't put the calories burned back on after the cardio. If they come from fat depots with a pulse at 130 or carbohydrates with a pulse at 150 may be more crucial for a pro or semi-pro athlete.

In fact you actually burn more calories when your pulse is higher, even when they come from the carb depots. Just don't put them back on through thinking "I earned a burger now".

  • I guess I didnt explain it well in the video, some people get it but to many its not clear. I may have to re-edit this video and try again.

  • dos he still go to the gym as well or not?

  • hi scooby, iv been doing some of your workouts, and there great. 1 little problem tho lol, wen i try to do tricep workouts that iv seen from your videos, either my elbows hury a little or im to tired to do them as i do my bicep and tricep workouts on the same day lol, i can change them to seperate days but i didnt know wat was better to do, either do tricep and bicep workouts on the same day or , do them on seperate days. soz if this didnt make sense lol. any reply will b appreciated. thxs :D

  • Hey Scooby, I did my first set of your beginner's pushups tonight... kept it very slow like you say. I did five and collapsed!!! You're right, it's all about form. have also been doing the Couch to 5K for the past four weeks and already my belt's gone in a notch... love your vids, it's like having my own personal trainer online!! Keep up the fantastic work...

  • Many people have doubts when they watch scooby and they wonder why he lifts such light weights. He has already mentioned many times that he uses lighter weights because he emphasizes form and slow movement. There is the answer to those of you who want to criticize him. Stop being haters.

  • Dude, I've been doing fist push-ups for years and I've never been able to work enough on my chest. I just did two sets with this technique and I can feel my chest muscles being worked out. Great work friend, great work.

  • Glad this works for you Gusto!

  • oh my god.i feel my pecs getting harder after just 10 push-ups.thnx for uploading this vid

  • watch?v=1UEOZGFzPas

  • I think I will only see the full effect if you were to do it in tight speedos, he he. Ok I'm being silly now, sorry.

  • Of course the squeezing movements will help you gain chest mass faster, scooby. My left chest is a little smaller than my right so I do extra push ups on my left side. Instead of my left chest growing bigger, my lower left tricep does. The point is, push ups don't put all the pressure on your chest. Some of that weight goes to your triceps.

  • Nice bod and he's not ugly but his head seemed alittle small

  • It's normal. His shoulders are just big, he he.

  • Wow, you can squeeze and push me any time. You have nice skin as well as muscles. Do you put anything on it to keep it so smooth and firm?

I think they should make women's exercise videos with sexy men like you in it, as it would make me more interested in fitness.

I go to the gym but haven't seem much improvement yet. How long of working hard does it take to see a difference?

  • 'ugggnh...squeeeeze....nice and slow...'

  • great clip,

    all the best to you

  • Good Technique! I use a regular wood stand to work out my calves. I have to use a little weight after a while.

    Good Work!

  • he asked what kinda people push and squeeze :AWESNER : is people taking a shit

  • I love you're videos.

  • Hey Scooby,

My booty needs some help (I suffer from flat ass) but I can't do heavy squats because of my low back problems. I do lunges with 25-30 pound dumbbells in my hands. I also do wall squats with a therapy ball. These exercises work well for my quads but not too much for my booty. Can you please help.

  • Whilst it may sound a bit silly, Id suggest doing Doggy-Lifts to target this zone, it doesn't place excessive weight on your lower back, and it mostly focuses on your 'booty'. Squats and lunges predominantly focus on the larger leg muscles - if you do feel like your lower back is aching doing squats, tighten your core muscles as it reduces the strain on the back and helps focus more on your legs.

  • Dear Scooby, I think i have biceps but the just dont reach the peak, like in a bump shape. plus i have no veins showing through my arms :( i do pushups and pullups and aerobic excerices and drink water but still nothing... please answer back, please. plus i have a persona question for that you may answer if its okay for you, how many normal full press ups can you do, if you're not comortable with that answer that dont answer but please reply to my first question.please

    Your Admirer

  • YouRSoJewish: The veins are underneath the subcutaneous fat under your skin, so the main way to get them to be more prominent is to have a thinner layer of fat over them, so the same advice applies as for 6 pack abs. Check out Scooby's 2 videos on 6 pack abs.

  • Hi Scooby, I realy like your vids, they are realy helpful. Maybe you could make a video about how to train the oblique abdominal muscles. Thanks and keep those vids coming!

  • I do that all the time, but with a variation. Grabbing a bar that is very close to the floor with both hands on the same bar (as close as possible). It makes you squeeze because if you dont, you fall to the floor! Other one is: On foot, hold a disk with arms straight like if they were pliers. Move the weight up and down. This works the front shoulders, too, but makes you squeeze hard, bc if you dont, the disk will fall to the floor.

Best, and thanks scooby for those nice vids!

  • can sum 1 plz tel me wat they eat every day and tips abwt muscles, dnt say eggs or beans coz im allergic .. click on my name and send the message. many thnx ..

  • scooby1961 your a genius your are a youtube fitness mogul love the vids!!!!

  • scooby if you read this please do anwser my question, its about the squeezing method of push-ups, i've tried it on my fists and done them slowly but what i dont get is.. when i 'squeeze' and do the push-up it feels exactly the same as a normal push-up but then i just feel like im tensing my chest a bit more, if you have time please tell me where im supposed to feel like im tensing and whether its right or wrong and what i could do bout it, thnx alot;)

  • yeah I need an answer to this too.. im having the same problem :|

  • If you are relative beginners at working out it may be that you haven't yet developed the necessary strength to do the "squeezing" correctly while simultaneously doing the pushing up.

  • hi evil thanks for your help your really helpfull but i need more help please. COuld you tell me the best way to gain more abs and chest??? I can go to gym 2 days each week:saturday and sunday:S, so thats the only days i can work with kg. the others i just can do abs or push ups for chest. What should i do??? thank you very much.

  • The best way to gain more chest and abs is to follow one of the workout programs Scooby posted on his website. Getting some second hand weights should cost less than a month gym membership.

And as I said in my other reply: Growing muscles takes time. Don't expect miracles. It is also very likely that you experience a gain in strength before you notice a gain in size.

  • Try this. Borrow a kids big rubber ball, the heavy duty playground type. Hold it out in front of your face at arms length and try to pop it by crushing it. Feel the incredible strain in your pecs? Now try to do that crushing motion while doing pushups.

  • i couldn't help laughing at the sight of a big guy like you straining while doing pushups -but then i tried these myself and i must say, HOLY SHIT, this exercise is really effective! (yeah yeah, i know, no shit)

unfortunately, it really does a number on my shoulders.

i think i'm going to stick with dumbbell flyes to build up my chest, but i'll definitely be taking this exercise on the road whereever weights aren't accessable! many thanks for sharing!

  • what a ridiculous hat!

  • With a body like Scooby's, nothing really looks ridiculous on you. And, besides, Scooby wouldn't be Scooby without that hat. I for one am anxiously awaiting the Scooby line of sportswear.

  • great tips!

  • Wow the drop set is such a great idea, ima be using that one

  • normal sit-ups. Hardly anything ebbs away from the stomach. I have also tried the 5 meals but I cannot avoid the three big meals. I eat 5 meals but the one in breakfast, lunch, and dinner always are bigger portions and the middles ones are more of snacks with whey protein.

Any help would be very useful.

    Thanks scooby

    From,

    A Male High School Student

    P.S. I do workout at a club.

  • yea scobby im in the SAME exact situation that he is in, but im not very good at working out and i cant seem to get rid of my gut =/ help please

    THANKS

    another male high school student

  • You CAN'T make fat at a SPECIFIC bodypart make go away through an exercise. Fat goes away when you lose weight. And WHEN you lose weight, the body decides WHERE it goes off.

If you can't follow Scooby's nutrition tips, try the Hacker's Diet (do a Google search). It is radically different from Scooby's approach, but the basic idea is just like his: Eat less energy than your body needs and you will lose weight.

  • you will find scooby said the same thing in 6-pack abs part2, Nutrition

  • 1st day: Back, Shoulders

2nd day: Biceps, Pectoralis, Push ups, Incline, normal, Decline

    3rd day: Legs, Triceps, Squats

    Everyday is abs

I hardly have rest days, Most of the guys in my grade are really skinny but they dont have any ab fat. I saw your abduminator video and have been doing "crunches" instead of just

  • Hey man, Im a 14 yr old prepubscent male. I started working out 2 weeks ago and I am seeing very little results. For some reason I want to grow taller and skinner and then put on the lean muscle mass. I want to get the fat off my stomach and I've been doing crunches for as long as I can remember. What do you think I should do?

My current workout schedule is from M&F Magazine

  • youre not going to get the benefits of working out immediately... it took me years to get to where i am now, and even then, im still not the biggest.

theres is many factors...your natural build ( i have a runners build), genetics even...etc.

  • Thanks for the reply. When you said pushups were your number one exercise did you mean in packing on muscle, because i am a soccer player who only trained my lower body and neglected my upper.

  • scooby, i dont get it, all my body parts get sore the next day after a workout except my biceps, i train them with just as much intensity as other body parts, why wont my biceps get sore? thanks

  • i got a six pack from doing what he says and im only in my freshmen year.

  • Wow, I don't know about the exercise but he's well sexy. Is he single and likes English women?

  • You oughta work out more. Work on your chest.

Nice job. I always enjoy the smooth, slow motion of a good push-up.

    Best from Kentucky...

  • Thanks for all videos im a big fan!

    Now i got a question.

How do I work on my middle section on the chest? Triangle pushups? Or is it so easy that you just grab the bench press bar in the middle? And what should i do when using dunbells? Or can you build a full broad chest like youres when only doing flys?

    Thanks

  • SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!!!!!!

  • An ad? Waitasec, is Scooby a partner?

  • good little tip, i can feel way more in my chest when i do the squeeze. thanks!

  • Thx again for sharing. Waiting for ur friendship anser. Take care

  • i tried this, it works...i can feel it

  • hello scooby!

thanks for all the help you've been giving to people like me. i've learnt a LOT from you. i posted a video response regarding push ups, just pure push ups. i've seen your beginner pushup video, and i'm unsure if my form or speed is SLOW enough to be effective in developing general chest strength. pls view my video and feel free to criticise, thank you!

  • I'm not Scooby, but in my opinion you are going way too fast. Mentally and slowly count to two when you go down and again when you go up.

  • Thanks for another great video, Scooby! I have searched the net from here to there and your advice on bodybuilding is the most sound I encountered. I hope everyone realizes what great services you do here for free.

  • can sum 1 plz tel me wat they eat every day and tips abwt muscles .. click on my name and send the message. many thnx

  • Try watching my nutrition video, it has some suggestions

  • cmon man plz tel me wat u eat everyday and sum tips abwt muscles, iyl reali b happy if u tel me scooby thnx.

  • view scooby's video entitled "6-pack abs part2, Nutrition" - this will tell you what you need to know!

  • Tried it, didn't work. I still dont get it

  • Dont stress. Not all exercises work for all people. Personally, I cant do bench press as it just doesnt work for me.

  • This guy knows what hes talkin.

  • Looks kinda stupid. You can see that he works his delt's more than his chest. He should focus on leaning forward instead and to change between wide and short grip.I can do 100+ reps without rest, but as the video shows;its more important to do less reps slowly to fully iclude the pec's development without cheating!

  • I suggest you actually listen to Scooby's explanation in the video and read his comments here. Then you might get what this routine is about.

  • for my legs I cycle up the mountain near my house, 2km at 17% incline in the highest gear I can. That 3 times a week with hiking up mountains every weekend does the trick just right.

  • lol u look like scooby doo

  • will following the 60 min push up workout give as good results as training 30min with heavy weights?

  • what do you think about push ups with hands together making a triangle

  • Why won't you accept me as a friend?

  • just cuz u asked that.. makes him not want to accept u lol

  • Definately gona try that out, thanks scooby man

  • Way good, dont need that machine anymore!

  • This diet is usually M-F and the weekends I eat whatever I want, though it is usually healthy. And on occasion I will eat a tommy's burger or del taco, maybe once a month, but I only get a quessadilla. I gain no weight, the most I have ever weighed is 130. I dont want to weigh like 160 or be really huge, just toned and cut. Thanks for the vids and your time and your site. I really appreciate it.

  • You have to realize that gaining weight through muscles is a slow process. As a beginner you are good if you have 4-5 extra lbs after a year.

  • Hey Evilcyber,

I couldnt have said it better myself. I really appreciate it when people like you lend a hand in answering peoples questions!

  • It is the least I can do after all the useful advice I got through your videos and site.

  • How long should I stay on this, or since I have experience move onto intermediate even though I haven't worked out for a while? Also does the squeezing work for crunches as well? Sorry not all this is related to the video. Also you mention about harmful meat, does this relate to organic meat? Should I be drinking protein shakes??? My diet kashi cereal in the morning with soy milk, raw veggies with soy sauce for lunch, and meat and salad for dinner. I drink Beer daily. continued...

  • If you can do 30 of those in perfect form, it is time to up the difficulty. As Scooby explains on his website, form is very important and upping the difficulty (=weight) too early or by too much and not being able to do an exercise in strict form is actually counterproductive.

  • Thanks, I think I did very well the other day since I am super sore in places I've never been sore before, so I think I am doing the right thing for now. Maybe in a week I'll up the weight. Throw in some more excercises. Also I really don't want to get larger or necessarily gain weight, I want to tone up and become more defined, anything I need to know? And thank you Evilcyber for answering my questions and thank you Scooby for upping these great videos. Thanks so much, I feel great.

  • A week might be a bit of a rush. If you can do it, cool, but watch out for staying in proper form. And keep having fun and feeling great! :)

  • Try doing that with my belly. NOT easy.

  • I weight 125 LBS, I have no body fat. I want to become more toned and show more of my muscle but not necessarily get larger. Think of Bruce Lee body type. What do I need to do? I use to wrestle 10 years ago in highschool. I continually worked out for a few years after just stretches push ups and crunches. Then I got really lazy and stopped altogether for about 4 years. I have still retained a semi six pack except that its not what it was. I have started your Beginner workout.

    Continued...

  • me again.. if interested.. i could make some pics.. i guess you could see some differents hehe.. and i almost forgot.. i' m taking creatin before each training.. so maybe that's why i got so much weight

  • I wish I could look so good and fit when I am 46, you are amazing

  • scooby great chest exercises! :D. But can you do another shoulder video? i would love to know a great exercise to work my shoulders! :D

  • i just want to built arms and abs so my and the rest of the body is built... - thats my defination of looking good.. do you think if use your begineers and intermidiate plan i could achieve this??

  • scooby doo! WE LOVe YOU DUDE!!thanks for all the help... if i am even 1/4 of what your body looks like then i would be happy be me being 5-8 and 140pounds , most of it fat- even that is a impossible dream.. if i eat like you suggest and work out through your begineers probelms would i look "good" in lets say 3 months? i have dont eat much i have been doing cardio for 2 weeks for 18-21 mins at 22.1to around 25k speed... what i do is i cycle for 6 min and stop then start again..

  • Thanks again Scooby, great video! Thank you!

  • Hello Scooby!

I have a question for tou - i have seen many of ur vids abd i think taht u will know this one, I have a bti of a problem taht makes me to be worried see my Left arm Bicep is bigger than right arm! i wana balance it and why is it like that? can u help me please? ^^

  • The squeezing works, it makes the muscle 'peak'. It's great for biceps too. Great videos.

  • SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE

nice vids man they work perfectly

  • hii guys can someone help me please???

i do abs like 3 days a week but they dont grow much dont know why... but they told me that if i do everyday its bad so dont know what to do i should do 1 day and rest like now?? or i should do 2 days and rest?? please help me thanks a lot! im not a begginer!!

  • You shouldn't do them everyday. Muscles grow not during the exercise, but after, when they rest. If you have been working on your abs for a while, there is fair chance they have become stronger already. If what you are aiming at is having them show, you will need to have a really low bodyfat percentage.

  • what are you actually supposed to 'squeeze' when you do these?

  • Pretend there is a medicine ball between your fists you are trying to pop while doing the pushups. Numerous people have had the same question as you, I should have made this squeezing more clear :(

  • Okay. Thanks for the reply

  • all these weak motherfuckers trying to learn how to do pushups lol!!! pathetic weak ass bitches!!!

  • Fantastic Vid Scooby, thanks for that. I wasn't to sure what to expect but could feel the difference after my first set

    ps. voice@0.51-0.53 is scary :)

  • Hey where are the Leg Workouts???? What do you do for your legs?

  • You are SO innovative and right on the edge. And you have the chest and pecs to prove it. I love your "practice what you preach" method and the fact that you explain things in perfect detail. Thanks for doing such an outstanding job, my Friend.

  • Thanks,

Wish I could take credit for the stuff I preach but its been around for ages, nothing too innovative or sexy :)

  • watch?v=1UEOZGFzPas

  • great tips!!

  • scooby doby dooooooooo :P nice video, great tips!

  • ima boxer nt a body builder id kik ur ass u might b strong bt im way faster dan u id fuk u up lol hahahahahahahah

  • Super idiot. He is teaching exercising techniques and has body physique where you have no brain and low IQ....

  • hihihi have you ever tried jeet kun do?

  • Nope, the only martial art I've done is Akido and I loved it but was only able to do it for 3 months and never had time to continue. From the little I learned I can 100% recommend martial arts as a way to improve strength, balance, and coordination.

  • Hi Scooby,

ive been following your videos for a long time now and i just want to say thank you so much for everything you have done. your website is fantastic and gave me great advice!

  • squeezing create more pressure

  • I DONT GET IT??!?!?!!! What is he squeezin??

  • Its an isometric exercise. Its like giveing a death-squeeze to a big rubber medicine ball between your hands while you are doing pushups.

  • umm hehe does it matter if u put one of your legs/feet on top of the other leg/feet while doing push up ... ive seen people do it and was wondering if that would change anything

  • StrakXT: Putting one foot on top of the other when doing a pushup makes you more unstable, so it works your abs more and other stabilising muscles, and makes the exercise harder. Raising one foot out to the side is another, harder variation. Make sure you do both sides :o)

  • Hey Scooby, what drove you to be a bodybuilder? btw youve helped me drop 20 pounds and alot of muscle mass!

  • Hi Scooby, do you have any ideas on how I can maximize strength whilst not adding mass? I am interested in rock climbing and a big frame with a large muscle mass is not good for it. What is the best way to build strength and muscle endurance?

  • muscle endurance, you just use weights instead of pushups. its generally easier to lessen the weight on the weights, and do more reps. thats how you build muscle endurance and definition. as for strength, without increasin your mass, i would say do 65% of however much you can max with weights [dumbbells, benchin, etc]. do 10-13 reps and rest for 45 seconds [lessend from 60s] and do about 3-5 sets of that. thats should help

  • steriods

  • steroids your mom

  • Hey thanx for the squeezing information!

I really needed another exercise than the fly because I am really sick of benchpressing.

Thanx once again, for your vids!

  • tnx dude.....u rock :D!

  • Thanks - your an inspiration.

  • This guy had got serious discipline.

  • I finally understand how important form is, I injured myself and got tendonitas because i decided i just want to do some quick more reps, and i didn't bother to make sure i was still useing good form, and i got great results, and gained 3 pounds of muscle in under a month from lat rows and dumbell flys :D
