  • CAN YOU UPLOAD THE ORIGINAL? This is blank/ no picture

  • the screen is all gray....

  • nice shirt

  • u r not anal about it?

  • will shops do this for you

  • Thats what im wondering

  • funny dog

  • i feel like you should go from the tip to the widest part of the board. not past it and dulling your effective edge. you just dont want your tip or tail to catch on booters while doing spins. going past that will only make your turns less accurate. if your only hitting rails in soft snow conditions only than maybe dull all the edges. really though a beveled edge is the way to go for the all around rider. great edge hold and less catchy on rails.

  • what is the sharpness in the board? like the squarish edge?

  • Whats the reasoning behind this?

  • so you don't catch an edge on a rail or box or what have you

  • i don't know but if some1 could tell me, if its good for hitting big jumps?

  • yea... so you can like turn out of bad landings and dont bite it

  • the guy sounds and kinda looks like jack black

  • should i detune it so its smooth or just less sharp

  • and if my edges arent sharp will that effect my braking

  • not at all, stopping barely requires an edge.

  • hhahah i love the dog xD

but to be honest i'm not 100% sure if i get it.. reply if i'm wrong or good.. i do freestyle that means i take a lot of rails so my edge shouldn't be sharp so i got less change that i catch and edge and bail en this is why you would detune your board (for freestyling not for carving) am i right..?

  • why would u detune a malolo??? i only detune my park board, i leave the edge for my pow board cause i like to carve

  • lol i have the same thing but like i echenge mi snowboard on a new one

  • i cant understand y you would want to do this at all plz someone tell me i sonwbord alot and ive NEVER seen this done ?????????

  • You do this so when you hit rails and stuff you dont catch a lip with your sharp edge on your board. That way your edges will be dull so you wont be prone to catching those lips on a rail.

  • Its more for people who do rails and such. If your on a rail you want your edges to be somewhat dull so you don't catch a lip on the rail. Its done on your tip and tail because when your turning you don't want you tips to grab to much.

  • thankz

  • no it's done on all the edge of the board not just the tip and tail. The tip and tail edge most people round off all of it till they get to the part of the board that's actually needed to carve with.

  • The only part of the edge that you need is the effective edge(the middle section of the edge that makes contact with the snow.) The front and back edge can catch on a turn and make you bust hard. The best thing to do is to get rid of the sharpness of that edge.

  • Also, Detuning has nothing to do with rails. beveling your effective edge is what you need to do if you ride lots of rails.

  • so you mean the effective edge it the one between my feet?

    greez

    Dave

  • depends, does your board have rocker w/magna traction like rails? such as a lib banana. Moast likely it doesnt and your effective edge is only the 4 corners of the board right behind the tip/tail. It looks like the widest part of your tail/tip. Looks like a 'waist'

  • i have a skate banana. well i did it and it works

    :)

  • In that case don't do it like this guy does. detune the whole thing IMO. Or do it how others do it... ride hard let the rocks take care of it.

Also theres a difference between 07 bananas. Some have magna traction and others do not.

  • Hey man...great vid. Ima buy a Rome this season. I like to ride Brighton backcountry in the morning and pull frontside lips all afternoon. How should I tune/detune? I've always had a shop do it...

    Thanks!

  • where can u get the bird stone from

  • dude your awesome, subscribe to me

  • best t shirt ever, hahahah.

  • Thanks! Can you guys make a video on how to tune your edge bevels? I'm not really sure how bevels work. :/

  • word. thanks! good stuff.
