Recently had back surgery and 17 day hospital stay with total cost of $28,000.00 of which I paid $584.00. Wake up America!

I used to work for the Depatment of Health and Human Services - Health Finance Administration directly under the Secretary of HCFA. I personally know that when the government is involved in health care financing, there is incredible waste, fraud and abuse. This bill is just another way for the Dems to funnel dollars to enrich the pockets of whoever they want to put in charge of an untold number of committees. Taking care of Americans' health has got very little to do with it.

For the unregulated prescriptions. From what I understand, things like prescriptions, eye exams and what not are NOT part of Canada's nationalized health care system, so you still have to have "some" private insurance. However, it is doubtful that Americans go to Canada for national health care. Two reasons, You have to be Canadian and paying those taxes to get it and it is not better than private US insurance can provide. So how exactly do US citizens qualify for that coverage?

So organizing to have an impact on issues is only good when ACORN does it? Hello people, that's how this country is SUPPOSED to work- you get together with like minded people and try to make an impression on your representatives. if health care is so bad why do Canadians live longer and are generally a healthier country. More so they have a better quality of Life. We may not all be Bill Gates here but we can afford to get sick at least without losing our homes. The US health Care or lack of it is so that a few wealthy people can get wealthier at the expense of the sick. Nice sign me up for that. Our system is far from perfect but it does work despite all the lies being told to you all in the USA about Canada's system

yep I also watched on your TV programing. That we get drunk on Vodka and pull our own teeth out with dirty pliers, We get our neighbours to do major surgery on us because we do not have Drs or Hospitals. and our pets get medical advice but we the people do not. I can go on for hours from what we Canadians have to do because we have Universal Health Care according to American TV show. Believe what you want, We here in Canada really do not care. 500,000 Americans come here each year WHY

For the unregulated prescriptions. From what I understand, things like prescriptions, eye exams and what not are NOT part of Canada's nationalized health care system, so you still have to have "some" private insurance. However, it is doubtful that Americans go to Canada for national health care. Two reasons, You have to be Canadian and paying those taxes to get it and it is not better than private US insurance can provide. So how exactly do US citizens qualify for that coverage?
