  • i got a 86 and its says it supposed to run 14.2 but we got mid 13s out of it

(as far as i know its stock)

  • And there coming back with the Ford Gt;)

  • Interesting comments, but on that day 2 buddies lined up whatever junk they had, and ran them for fun. Vette was not stock. It ran 14.41 stock. This version was a stock 350 with bolt ons.

  • look people that vette is not stock. lol there was not a single stock vette produced in 1987 that could run a 13.3 and the vette red lighted against a stock gt

  • @redd7188 Gees you can see the tree and the Corvette did not red light. I whole heartedly agree, the Vette was probably not stock, but bone stock, it would have creamed this typical mustang at over 15 seconds.

  • @ParisTNDude not really an early 80's vette on average ran 16's while mid 80's vettes average ran 15's and late 80's vettes high 14's

  • @redd7188 Well, I had an 82 Vette and it ran well enough, but I never had it to the drag strip. The magazines of the era show the 1984 Vette running low to mid 14s and the C4 LT1s would run high 13s. If you go to Drag times you can search any car you want and I did and that's what they run bone stock.

  • @ParisTNDude late c4's in the 90's would dip into the 13's with a good driver and i am sure a good driver could get a late 80's vette into the low 14's but like i said on average (this meaning what i saw with my own eyes at the track) the 80's vette was a low 15 second to high 14 second car on average

  • @redd7188 You could be right about the early C4s...I have no experience with them, but when I get mine next week and check it out, I will most likely do some base line runs with it.

  • @ParisTNDude cool, i think the c4's are the best looking vettes ever and if i bought one it would be the c4. What are the details on the c4 you are getting?

  • @redd7188 My daughter gave the C4 to me as unexpected repayment for a long overdue debt. She hadn't registered it in years. It is an 84 with only 66K miles on it and everything works perfectly. She says it will get 28 MPG on the highway. It's medium gray metalic. She sent pics of it and I have seen it before. Not the fastest of Vettes but faster than the Supra , 944, 300Z turbo of the day. I'm excited about getting it and the drive back from Wyoming!! This my 3rd Vette, an 82, 2002 awesome cars!

  • @ParisTNDude who cares? its a fast good looking car that has aged well and still looks good. take care of it, wish it was me

  • look niggas that guy driving the mustang sucked balls and didnt know how to take off seriously. i raced a vette and a silverado with my 5.0 and managed to win why? because its all about the driver.... whos with me

  • @imacaaron

3 days later... No one. Lol. It might be all about the driver on a track. But straight line we are all the same. It's all about the car. Race me on a track, I'll win. Race me on a drag strip, I'll still win. Cause my C5 Z06 will eat a 5.0 for breakfast. And if you say you got a 2011. Then my car gets lunch too.

  • @M3Legend just cuz you have a corvette doesn't make you fast loser.. if you want to race then let me grab my brothers twin turbo supra and show you what a real car can do. your gonna be my snack

  • @imacaaron now you are bragging about beatiing a 5000 pound silverado.

  • LOL!!! its not the driver of the mustang.... its the car. You cant beat a chevy with a ford.....

  • I guess the Mustang driver wasn't really there to race? I could have launched harder in my brother's Geo Prizm. -_-

  • @MrSupercoolguy22 The new camaro is pretty sweet. I am looking forward to see if they build a Z-28 model.

  • @MrSupercoolguy22 I like vettes, camaros, mustangs, trans am etc. but a corvette is a sports car, and I have never known a camaro, or anything else in the pony car line up that could smoke a vette. The new ZR1 is pretty quick, but I would never compared it to the quickest mustang car... It just doesn't work. Either way I hate it when American fans hate on other American fans, I say give the mustang guy credit for buying that car over a Japanese made rice burner...

  • @SuRihtanil --Amen to that!

  • @SuRihtanil Mustangs are awsesome cars man back in the 90`s they ate vettes for a joke and dont get me started in the 60`s but today Ford had an answer and it is the Ford gt they stopped making them but they fucking ate vettes and looked good doing it

  • @badcolt944 Uh...in the 90s mustangs topped out at a WHOPPING 215 horsepower until...what...early 2000? Camaro/Trans Am/Vette was at 285/305, then 325/350?

90s mustangs were and are trashcans.

  • @Model192 ...They didnt need all that HP retard thats why its so funny your big PIG motors couldn't even keep up with the LIGHT and FAST mustangs....HAHAH your shit

  • Comment removed

  • @badcolt944 Really? That is the worst attempt at a retort I've ever seen. Not to mention you can't even spell, and you're still wrong and somehow offended by the fact that 90s Mustangs sucked a fat dong at 215hp 280 torque. I don't see you uploading any fast 90s mustang vids.

  • @Model192 Actually, the mustang hit 305/300 in 1996. They ran low 13s off the showroom floor, which was fast enough to rape LT1 F bodies and it was a drivers race with LS1 cars. The GT's were a bit more anemic through the 90s, peaking at 225hp in 1998, before the switch to the 4.6L SOHC PI engine with 260hp in 1999.

  • @Milehighsnake98 Uh...in 96 they still had the 215 horsepower 4.6L. How do you figure they hit 305? They were bad all the way through the 90s. They didn't hit 300 until they moved to the 3 valve in 2005 and that thing wouldn't dip into 13s without gears in the "package". But who likes to go 75mph @ 3000~ rpm? Not me. The mustang hit 260 hp in 1999. Bad is bad.

  • @badcolt944 I love revisionist history. Please give me an example Mustangs in the 90's "eating" Vettes?

  • @johntvette 93 Cobra...end of story

  • @badcolt944 93 cobra could not outrun a 93 Vette.

  • @MrSupercoolguy22 again the big kill it made was against a car which is what $40,000 cheaper?! yeah big kill there WWWWWWWWWWWWOOOOHOOO GO GET THOSE KILLSS!

  • Ok... for the sake of sounding onesided, typical GM over Ford. Corvette over Mustang. Not surprising. Camaro/Mustang competition is age old. Firebird/Mustang, same age old comparison. Myself, always with the Trans Am or Z28 variety. Admittingly, there are some very nice Roush Mustangs and GT's of the mid to late 2000 variety that are awsome as well. But for my money, I will stick with my Corvette.

  • i got the same vette but mines yellow

  • get a real car with a stick pete

  • I don't want to look fast. I want to BE fast.

  • Kix play on background

  • your friend with the stang need to launch with more rpm he died on the start he can go in between 14.5 and 15 for sure

  • Well you knew that the mustang was going to get killed plus the Vette got an awsome launch, it looked like a jump but the lights on the tree were green. I don't think the Vette was stock either, it was about a 14.2 car back in 87 which is still 1.2 seconds faster than the laughable 15.4 the mustang pulled. Plus the Corvette is also 8 years older than the mustang, imagine putting a 95 Vette up to the 95 mustang and forget it, tough enough to watch this as the 2 cars don't fit in the same picture.

  • Mild 350 with bolt on's at that time. On spray (with that motor) it ran 11.80 @ 120 mph. 383 n the car now runs 12 flat, and 10.90 on spray.

  • what are the ods on the corvette?

  • Nice launch on the vette. 13.3 sounds like it isn't stock, what mods are done to it? I believe stock does13.9-14.1

  • corvette jumped it a little but still fair

  • Nope. It was a clean, green light start. The mustang was dead late.
