A great snap shot and view of the film from the time it first made its popular cultural impact. With 2001 a space odyssey still looming over anything remotely "sci-fi" in movies... plus, interviewer is a knob.
Watching that reporter makes me appreciate those Monty Python sketches even more. It's like he's a parody of they Pythons' parody of Britain's reporters of the day. I'm surprised he calls Vader the "Dark Lord of the Sith" when the word 'Sith' isn't even mentioned in the original trilogy.
This was great; thanks for sharing this video! Mark Hammil came across better than I would have expected given the success of Star Wars. He even gave interesting insight into the real behind-the-scenes stuff that took place. His description of Leia was funny as hell. These types of videos cannot be overvalued. Thanks again!!!!
Well, I think he means his bodylanguage and the tone of his voice. He does come off, in this interview, as having a bit of a pretentious bodylanguage for a 26/27 year old. The way he leans over and his smooth movements and voice in some parts of the interview kind of resembles that of an elder sort of old school classic actor, like Alec Guinness for example. It's probably unconscious.
"alright, putting me on the spot...those are nice trousers!!"
haha so random XD

@B0Boman It was mentioned in the original Star Wars novelization, as well as in certain merchandise.

@B0Boman "Dark Lord of the Sith" was in the press notes. Most embarrassed that this interview has surfaced! James (the interviewer).

@nonefaster Don't be. It's student broadcasting in the 70s. It's exactly as it should be.

Thanks for posting this! It would've made an awesome extra on the Star Wars Blu-Ray box-set. Weird seeing the film clips in Black & white though. ;)
