  • drugs of some kind clearly evident at this point it probably helped him play the joker but a role like that you don't leave behind you

  • 6 человек которым не понравилось видео, вы родственники Николсона?

  • He was correct what a film what a actor

  • Rest in Peace.

  • he is fucking hot!!!!!!!!!! *_____*

  • I still can't believe he's gone, RIP Heath.

  • lool @ people thinkin they get an insight into heath via this video, none of you will ever really know nor understand the man, he's gone now and the only people that truly knew him are a rare bunch and they don't spend their time speculating about this shit on videos such as this

  • @alexman378 he actually did that before the movie he added that to the role.

  • For me he would be the next Johnny Depp

  • @NormaMagapi Absolutely. He was the one to watch out for.

  • He pretty much was -- Johnny and Heath were both very passionate actors who did movies they loved or what would be popular....both weren't that well known until one movie (Pirates, Batman) pushed them into stardom.

  • heath : the movie is gonna be good

    The movie is legendary!

  • Wow he was so laid back about what he did but on the screen he shines like a light.

  • i dont care if i didnt know him he seemed like an incredibly nice and caring person ! <3333 LOVE HIM!!! <3333

  • that cartoon fox robin hood was awesome

  • Too bad you didn't get to watch the Movie in the cinema.. One of the best movies ever made, and one of the biggest ranks in IMDB.. you were gonna like it, and you were gonna make a lot of good movies true the decades you had in front of you.. it's a shame.. Rest in Peace Heath, Rest in Peace !

  • damn it, i'm going to say it. jack may have originated it, but heath PERFECTED it. i shit myself when i saw him as the joker, both for his looks and his physiological performance. he was flawless.

  • wht a voice huh!! real man... actually m seeing a man 1st tym... lol!

hes ....... cant describe... Just One word.. Absolutely stunning styles and everythng... mmmmmuaaah!

previous Joker ws nthng man infrnt of him.. and still others r lower ...i mean other actors..

    wow!

    woowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!

    miss u !

  • it didn't really hit me until the last seconds of the video that THIS GUY IN THE VIDEO IS DEAD. Heath Ledger died before the public showing of the Dark Knight. He never got to see what an impact he made :(

  • Geez Heath Ledger's death really put a dent in the industry, I miss him so much!!!!

  • Jack Nickleson played the Joker.

    Heath Ledger WAS the Joker

  • did he actually watched the movie ?

  • And then he died from "an accidentally toxic combination of presciption drugs"... Incredible man. May he rest in peace.

  • rip

  • R.I.P

  • yes it was good, great, awesome

  • What's with the constant chewing? I noticed that in his Joker performance.

  • @ElPoeta12 Psychopathic facial tic? I dunno man. I just know I loved it.

  • @ElPoeta12 he was on meds at that time:(

  • JUST WHEN I THINK HE CANT GET HOTTER . HE HAS AN ACCENT :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • I don't know about you guys...but he comes off as really exhausted to me in this interview :/.

I do love though how he still has Joker mannerisms in this video; he's still mentally coming off his role.

  • Sounds like he was on drugs... Wait could that be why he di..... ohhhhhhhhhhh.

  • The only reason The Dark Knight Films are concluding after the next one, is because of Heath's death. Christopher Nolan said that it wouldn't be right to make another one with The Joker without Heath. R.I.P Heath Ledger.

  • R.I.P

  • Did he ever see the complete movie? or did he pass away before he could?

  • @huffyguy7 yeah, he passed away during the editing of the film :(

  • It kinda sounds like he is still in character during this interview.

  • Such a fantastic performance, one for the ages, it will never be forgotten

  • I find it so sad that Heath never got to watch the finished film, so glad he was in the film though, he was incredible. And the film completely blew me away, I'm still watching scenes from it now, every month at least! Rest in Peace Heath <3

  • Bane is going to suck

  • A great man, a great actor. He left us with his masterpiece, his 9th symphony. A roll that will be celebrated for many years to come.

  • Comment removed

  • modest. very modest.

  • I thought Christian Bale wasn't that bad (despite the voice thing as Batman). I mean he wasn't as good as Kevin Conroy, but I think the stake was set FAR too high. I think we should cut the guy some slack; after all he had to play Bruce Wayne the bum, Bruce Wayne the Warrior, Bruce Wayne the playboy, and of course, Bruce Wayne as Batman, so he had a full plate.

  • Did he ever see the movie when it was finished? that one kept me wondering...

  • @3lv4qu3r0 No Sweetheart. He died before the movie was released.

  • Better the day of someones death than the day of their birth.

  • 1:08 lol he did the joker lip thing

  • @MidnightGrunt he made those habits and things, that the joker does, so that he can be the character :) which is why his acting is so awesome :) (however thats what most actors do, he just did it very VERY well) but he is basically the joker in this xD go back to when he says "i haven't seen anything" and you could pass that off as the joker =D

  • @ZoyncTV I actually do the lip thing too after watching this movie 10 times.

  • @MidnightGrunt lol xD i did the lip thing as well, after seeing batman, because everyone was talking about the joker and so when quoting him you gotta do the lip thing :)

  • @MidnightGrunt the joker lip thing was his idea, because it was his habit

  • @MidnightGrunt That tic from the movie was actually based on an existing tic that Heath Ledgerr himself had.

  • God you can still see the essence of the joker lingering on Heath....

  • Just gutting:(

  • How did he not win a oscar for best actor?

  • @DrGanja99 he wasn't the main actor in the movie. That was Christian Bale. Heath Ledger won the Oscar for best supporting actor because that's the category in which he was nominated. He was recognized for amazing performance, and he did win an Oscar. It doesn't matter which category in which he was nominated. The main point is: He got an Oscar!

  • Listening to his normal speaking voice compared to the voice he used for The Joker is a really impressive contrast.

  • Comment removed

  • RIP

  • I feel so bad for the man that he prob never got to see the final product of the amazing performance he gave. r.i.p :(

  • HEATH DIED??? WHAT??? WHEN??? HOW???

  • @ayaserene

He died of an overdose of prescription drugs in January 2008. Where have you been?

  • @annie10103 Aw... Heith was me and my dad's role model. He never told me he had DIED. Well... This guy shold have been named Heath Ledgend...

  • @ayaserene

    Yeah, sad isn't it. :(

Actually I only found out he died about four months ago, so I don't blame you. :)

  • @annie10103 he died before the movie came out it was back in 2008

  • @batmanrock33

    Yeah, I know.

  • Looks like hes tweaking in this interview.

  • Did he actually get to see the movie before he died?

  • @memimo888 I don't think so unfortunately.

  • REst IN PARADISE

  • opiates are a hell of drug, thank you modern medicine.

  • believing what you are doing. You convince yourself, and believe in the story with all your heart. After production it always didnt seem to shut off of him. 3. In the dark knight he plays a man severed from all connections, a pyschopathic, mass murdering clown with zero empathy as he described it to rolling stone magazine. Micheal Caine said the role turned so frightening that sometimes he forgot his own lines.

  • Was Heath Ledger severly disconnected from reality after playing the role of the joker? The idea that joker killed ledger: 1. He couldnt seen to disengage, the inexactness bothered him 2.Ledger had no formal training, and theres this to be said about acting s...chool, "it teaches you to approach a role as foreign", as a language you temporaily speak. Ledger didnt appear to have that.He needed to di...g for and inhabit the part of himself that was the character. Performance comes from absolutey

  • You can actually see that he does the ''tongue on the cheek'' thing that the joker does... damn!

  • He still acts like the Joker. He couldn't get him out probably.

  • @alexman378 ehm okay?

  • @alexman378 Finally someone with some brains, the role messed with his head so much. Even people who where on set with him noticed when they went shooting that he wasnt acting normal. The role was to dark for ledger, eventually he started taking sleeping pills at night to help him sleep. Ledger could never get that role out of his head and it followed him everwhere. How would you have been having protraying one of the most evil characters ever on the big screen.

  • @alexman378 Yah I was thinking the same. I mean, Even just looking at the joker's scenes kinda gets me into his mentality. Also, i think i've heard that he spent like a month in a room, trying to get the Joker inside of him. I kinda wonder if it didn't stick to him too much .___.

  • @88472456 He also kept a journal as the Joker. The guy was like he actually wanted to live like the Joker even after the film.

  • omg i knew i wasnt the only person freaked out by et!

  • love u heath!!!!

  • R.I.P Heath. We miss you.

  • i admire how he can change his voice so much from his original to the jokers, holy cow lol

  • it's funny because at 1:10 he did the joker thing and the best joker u can ever get!!!

  • @eaglesalldayable Yeah, I noticed that too. :P

  • Heath, Heath, Heath Ledger.

  • Wow, that old clip of Batman and Robin looks like The Ambiguously Gay Duo.

  • People often ask me why good, talented actors (like Heath Ledger and Brandon Lee) die young whereas individuals with no talent aquire more fame and tend to live longer (JB + RB)

It's because you either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.

  • u can tell he's fucking coked up...

  • I feel like the Joker is still definitely in presence here guys. :)

  • such a shame, died too young great actor, brilliant in Dark knight,

  • So he died before actually seeing the movie?!?!

  • Comment removed

  • @softfishy Yeah, he never got to see it :'(

  • Its really sad that he wasn't able to witness the reception that Dark Knight got. It would have been a great if he was able to accept his rewards himself but hey, hopefully he's looking down at us all from up above.

  • He'll always be William Thatcher to me although he made an excellent Joker.

  • Just another junkie dead what a waste when you had so much.

  • @ashia4life313 prescription overdose, that could of happened to anyone, think before you speak, ignorance can get people killed. If its bad enough his body was weaken by working on two movies. The 7 medications the doctors prescribed was the final kicker.

  • "I think it's gonna be good."

    What an understatement.

  • @Grubnar Damn if that ain't the truth.

  • wish he lived to see what his legacy will be

  • Such a low pitch voice...

  • I can't believe he died. Wish he was around so he could have been in the next movie. R.I.P Heath Ledger

  • 1:24 is so baller

  • 0:20 sounds like some kind of slur that the joker in the movie would of had.... But there are rumors that Heath went too far into the role and basically acted similar to the joker. Then he went on the drug overdose... RIP

  • r.i.p heath.. you're a true legend

  • this man is a legend

  • " I think the movie is gonna be awesome!"

Oh Heath..oh how right you were! and its all because of you!

    R.I.P you legend!

  • You know, he actually looks a great deal like Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

  • those movements and manurisims are not that of the joker they're that of heath ledger in most of his movies heath does motions and manurisms like the ones in this video and the ones in the dark knight Heath didnt take traits of his character he implemented his own traits into hic character he gave the joker a face he gave him movements as well as posture. He was a very skillful actor and one that will be missed greatly

  • 1:08 on its clear he still is the joker in thought and facial expressions. Movement also. This guy was absolutely amazing. I would trade Justin Bieber, Pauly D, and all the Kardashians just so this guy would come back and wow audiences again at the cinema. R.I.P. Ledger.

  • I keep looking for the red scars and dont see any. Lol Love Joker

  • Ledger got to see the IMAX prologue.

  • notice him licking his lips like that, kinda still had the joker in him. You play a role long enough you start to become it

  • @c4explosiv3 That was a habit of Heath's which was put into the film, so he did it before TDK was ever made :)

  • Dear god it's like two different people..

  • he was so great in that movie, i just wish he could be in the 3rd one

  • Heath Ledger is not dead! For me he will be always in the movies, that's why is so amazing to be a legendary actor like he: you will be alive for ever!

    RIP Heath Ledger <3

  • He was right it was good and he was AMAZING!

  • Rest In Peace Heath !

  • <3

  • RIP Heath Ledger

  • God, give heath back to us and we'll give you you pauly d.

  • @Decimate92 Or "the situation" god please take the situation or send him to hell and give us Heath back. I was so sad when I heard he passed. He is easily my favorite actor.

  • @Megawatts19 Now that I think about, we'll give him the entire js cast in exchange for giving heath back to us lol.

  • @Decimate92 Yeah that seems like a fair trade because the situation alone does not equal Heath Ledger. Thanks for making my day, mate. lol

  • he really got into the joker, plain to see the little ticks and movements still sat so close in his mind, i'm sure no-one will argue he acted and brought the character forward to a place it captured every watcher and it's horrible that we won't be treated to another performance

  • @haggisvan Yeah, he certainly doesn't seem like he was in a very positive mindset. Mainly because The Joker isn't a very positive role.

  • He would have made a good Crow I think too.

  • @facecage22 good point i think that kind of character would have been right on for him

  • "I think it's gonna be good" he wasn't able to imagine how our lives will be changed with his character and the whole movie.. Thanks Heath..

  • "ET kinda freaked me out a little bit..."

omg, i love heath even more now. i feel the same way!

    r.i.p :*(

  • R.I.P Heath D:

  • you can really see how his portrayal of the joker carried with him, even when out of character. the "uhms" and hunched over, almost nervous position.... he really tapped into this character.

  • @GamerGuitarer Maybe it isn't a character. Maybe those gestures was how he was naturally.

  • Did he really die because of his role as joker? Someone please clarify.

  • @xunit94 Apperently, he got so into his character that he actually developed anxiety problems and personality disorders, including insomnia (some people also say it made his bi-polar disorder more prominent). Because of these, he was put on a number of meds to help him sleep, and he mixed two perscription drugs that are lethal when taken together. That's what killed him.

  • @JesterHopperpot1 Awh man :/

Terrible, but it just shows how devoted he was to his role. The way he was talking in this interview was no where near how he acted like joker, thats what i call great acting.

  • @xunit94 His death was a huge shame, he really was one of the best. I think he'll go down in history as one of the best actors of his time

  • Wow, he seems like a phenomenal actor and an all around good guy. I would have loved to be the Harley to his Joker, y'know what I mean? <3

  • This is so sad...

He was the best actor of his time; probably even the best up to the present, and he never even got the chance to watch his own performance...

[just saying - his death was caused by accidental pill overdose.]

The guy had so many things going for him, why would he do something so idiotic on purpose?

Ps: he picked up a few of joker's mannerisms. He licked the inside of his mouth where the 'scars' would've been when asked about his role as the joker.

    ~Rest in peace~

  • one of the saddest things about his death is that he never even saw part of his performance on screen, let alone the profound effect it had on audiences anywhere. RIP.

  • I think the role of the joker brought a change in him. I've seen other interviews of him and he looks a lot more stable then than he appears in this particular one.

  • Wait, so he didn't even get to see the movie in it's entirety?? That's sad /: I noticed at 1:09 his movement mimicks that of his performance as the Joker. How chilling...

  • I think the words new are harsh...he's been dead a while now

  • I can't believe his dead.......

  • The thing that made his Joker so great was that he didn't stick to canon. It was a truly original and masterful performance. It wasn't until Heath's Joker performance that I truly believed he was the best actor in the world, and sadly by then he had passed.

  • God Damn it, Why have you forsaken us by takng a great actor? WHY WERE YOU SO FUCKED UP and took THE BEST JOKER?

  • Weird how he licked his lips, maybe he took something away from that amazing role.

  • @BeardleProductions the Jokers lip licking actually came from Heaths habit of doing that :) So he did it before the film was ever made.

  • @CrazyBoutBillie That's nut's it worked out though.

  • @BeardleProductions The lip licking and his nervous ticks are something that he put into the Joker because he already had those as habits in real life.

  • What makes it even more tragic is that Heath never actually saw the film! :'(

  • lmfa@ archie comics FIP Heath miss srely missed for sure

  • Now I know how to freak out the Joker. But sad that he is not around anymore.

  • R.I.P. Dude,you were the best!!!!!!

  • His performance was not only the best Joker but just one of the greatest performances in any movie of all time. It amazes me how people can compare Jack to him simply because he also played the Joker. He didn't put 10% into the role that Heath did.

  • Heath never got to see the amazing movie that he started in : (

  • Too bad he never got to see how big of a hit the movie really was. And all because he was in it ! R.I.P Heath you were thee greatest actor in my heart

  • 2007 was such a great year; great Batman movie, economy still okay, sigh...

  • RRRRRRRRRRRRIIIIIIIPPPPPPPP

  • 1:20 listen to how he says, "secretive". Kinda creepy sounding.

  • 1:08- his movement is reminiscent of the Joker in the movie

  • @Daveman57by28mm Saw that too and thought the same...

  • @Daveman57by28mm i was just going to say the same thing lol

  • @Daveman57by28mm he died because playing the joker - becoming the joker - fucked with his head... you can see it in this interview the whole time, he was crazy after reinventing the joker

  • @ceeport1000 Pretty much. It's amazing that he was able to produce that caliber performance, but it literally consumed him.

  • @Daveman57by28mm Definately I agree. I could not imagine putting so much time into those tiny little character traits then all of a sudden having to "un-learn" them after the movie was done. Such a great actor.

  • @Daveman57by28mm its actualy his habit he developped before the movie

  • @Daveman57by28mm I kinda feel he moves more like the joker at 1:16 !

  • @Daveman57by28mm holy crap. totally right. he did the tongue flick, although it was inside his mouth lol

  • if he were alive he would have returned as the joker the dark knight rises would kicking ass and taking names right now as we speak

  • This is my favourite film, and he made it! >:( Why did he have to die... T___T

  • Shame he never got to see the finished product...
