@creeper901 I'm glad you liked it. This is a bit outdated now and I know I could do better today, but I still enjoy watching it as well. Thanks for writing!
@creeper901 The footage on the screens inside the "logo tunnel" are other animations I did (rendered as .AVI videos) mapped onto a simple box object with a planar UVW meterial map. In the older version of 3D Studio Max I used to make this, you could apply animations of any length to different objects. I don't know why, but in later versions multiple animations must all be of the same length or they won't play correctly.
I couldn't use Vray on the old computer I used to render this animation, and I haven't really tried to use it yet. I'll check it out, though. Thanks for the tip, and for writing!
It's a very smooth animation. I am currently in school right now for something similar and they limit us to 10 second for a personal logo animation. Very nice way to shocase projects though. Do you do any tutorials?
I've considered it, but taking notes about what I'm doing while I'm doing it would seriously increase the time it takes to finish a project. Also, to be honest, I cheat a lot. If you need any pointers, though, please feel free to write to me here. Thanks for writing!
Buckaroohawk , Im trying to post my animation and the graphic is so choppy totally pixeliated out , I noticed such fine clear visuals on your text , what settings did you use especially frame size
This video was done 640 x 420. Youtube prefers a smaller frame size (320 x 210), but I upload the larger ones for a clearer picture. They also prefer MPEG files, but I upload AVI. I hope this helps!
this is just awesome work

Really nice blend of animation and music. I always LOVED that music, plus I'm a Star Trek fan. Thanks.

Is that the music from HBO's feature presentation opening?
azjessem 4 years ago
Yes it is! I always thought that opening theme had a very grand, epic feel and it really helps expand the scope of the animation.
