yo shit is dope kid. i just coped an sp 1200 myself. i been trying to midi it up to my asr-10 and use the sp to sequence everything but i'm having problems. the sp only plays a short blip of the sample on the asr. I'm assuming it has something to do with channel outputs but i dont know what i'm doing wrong. any advise would be mad helpful thank you.
I think it maybe the layout of the MP that makes the beats more "groovy"? The SP has that grit but the MP makes your head bob, the second beat is what's up. I don't get into which is better, I just noticed it. Must be that "swing" everyone talks about? Keep bangin' em bruh
That's dope.I used the same sample you used on the 2nd beat about 5 or 6 years ago. But you used it more extensively. Keep real hip hop alive DXA Records!!!!
@daillmeskin can you tell me what that sample is homie? I want to find it on vinyl and take a stab at it... Its cool if you dont want to hit me back... I understand the diggin in the crates concept but it just hits me deep, ya dig? Im a 90s boom bap producer so you know I wont butcher the sample with new school drums... only that hard 90s sound... peace
@KickBack90sBeats it's been so long i can't remember the name. i'll have to go through my crates and find it. i might post the version i did on my mpc 2000.
I like that shit for real! keep up the good work. I c yall diggin in the crates, at least some people r still makin some good hip hop. That last beat on this video was raw as fuck man. That shit I had to go back to a few times. Showin some luv from Chi-town man Peace!!!
Its all good, BUT he should tune the "horn" so that it fits into the rest of the melody... i cannot listen to that detuned horn... i think it sounds horrible like that.
@adrifromhh - if you remember "These Chains" by Naughty By Nature- and the New York Undercover Theme - they had a horn that was a bit untuned- its kinda funky - you know? - I wont lie I was thinking that I'dve had my horn tuned and played around wiht it a bit - but in essence its kinda 90's funky
DOPE!!! i wish heads around my way would give up the 2500 and 1000's and get on some 12 sec ish! not to mention 12 bits!!! you guys gott that class feel and hopefully you get that mass appeal!
Wow this shit sounds real nice... real soulful... love to see people using actual equipment and not computer programs, it sounds richer and brings out more creativity
I have a beat with the same sample that you did on the mpc 3000. Glad to know that my beat and your beat sound totally different. Other wise I'd say you jacked me!!! LOL.....Good stuff.
get it on a credit card, then pay it off with money you make from being talented on an MPC and getting paid for your beats. More philosophy studies next week :)
i agree with elma...with a stupid name like Chamillionaire, how can you take someone like that serious? IDC how many RAPPERS you think would sound nice over that second beat...Emcees and Lyricists are em effers that make you think about what they saying. Rappers just say anything, without any provoking thoughts. That's why i prefer emcees and lyricists. Rappers suck rotten eggs!
That second beat is cold as fuck, i could picture someone like Chamillionaire or Ludacris just killin' it, it reminds me of an old Three 6 mafia beat ...which is a good thing.
Let me guess your one of those "holier than thou" hiphop heads that can tell me Immortal techniques discography but couldn't tell me shit about the First Brand Nubian tape huh? Chamillionaire is actually a good rapper. I'm familiar with the region I know this is NY based hiphop, you've got your backpack on too tight. This beat is versatile and can be used for any region. Hiphop ain't restricted to one region homie. A real emcee can fllip any beat fuck a region bias. Much props go to Icerocks.
i aint no backpack rapper, thats bullshit too, and i know more then enough about 80s and 90s hip hop, and its dead, so for you to say chamillionare is a good rapper is a fucken joke! and immortal technic is in a diff category that you cant even touch, cus youre so stupid. you probably think arabs did the 9 11 attacks haha but thats another topic, you think these rappers are good and people are gonna agree with me not you so fuck you
thank you very much!! .. i thought i was the only reasonable hip hop head around here.. alot dudes will say lil wayne and kid cudi suck but take away the instrumental and they got good flow/rhymes.. not including autotune. now im not saying their great.. but they sure as hell arent garbage
I miss my fucking 3000, I sold that bitch like a fucking DUMMY...but the 4000 is perfect for my setup and how I used to fuck with the 3000
