@Myunnamed bhp is the power at the crank (i think without accessories) and WHP is the power at the wheels after it goes through the transmission and rear end gears.

so if the motor has say 100 bhp then it loses 10% through turning the transmission and rear (or front) axle so it would have 90 whp. the power that made it to the wheels
