Heres a suggestion to add to that. Maybe instead of giving all the middle eastern natives that come to our country tax breaks when they open their Gas Stations/C-Stores only to bring their families here as well to work in the stations we should focus more on giving the low and middle class people of our country some tax breaks. Invest in the Americans, not the foreigners.
I dont know about anyone else here, but I for one, would rather work for what I have rather than have some rich person hand me everything I want and need. I am far from being well off, and I have never been well off. Im 22 though, I can still change that in my life if I so choose to do so. It is not your call jnberg to make on wether a wealthy family can own two Yachts, nor is it mine or the governments. It is that familys.

This song is musically interesting but intellectually dishonest. The argument, that that, tax and spend democrats are ruining our nation flies in the face of reality.
Yes, unfortunately the government requires people to PAY TAXES in order to run. You poor near-poverty fools are fighting to protect the rich class's money? How stupid can you be?
No matter if you think it was right or wrong the U.S. spends about 20 million/day in Iraq to protect us from a threat that never materialized there, and no one thought to replace that money in the last administration. Granted, Obama wants to spend RIDICULOUS amounts of money too, but at least he wants to spend it on programs in the U.S., not 1/2 around the world. He may fail, but at least he's trying do something different. Give him a chance....if he f's up then come after him.

It's not about democrats or republicans. It's about greedy, satanic bastards in the White House destroying America for the middle and lower class families. All the while bailing out their friends in big business.
Please - please - please - please - please stop making videos of yourself singing. That is all I ask.
Do you need me to register with the Republican party or organize a tea-bagging festival? Because I will do it so long as you no longer post. Do we have a deal?
How exactly do you clean up after a budget surplus?
Gas was $1.50 in 2000.
Gas skyrocketed "and things like that" when Bush invaded Iraq and never intended on leaving. Wait - mayby I'm wrong... Nope - I just checked and the last 8 years were not a dream. I am correct.
I am sick of the over polarization. Congress has been sticking it to us for years under both parties. I rather argue over real ideas and fixes, instead of bickering over what side has more guilt in our economic demise. People remember the president is only one cog in machine! Our senators and our representatives are failing us more then any president ever has.
Dude, he's been presidents for what... 6 months? Bush had 8 years to destroy it. Obama said he needed 10 to fix it completely, but could come along way in 8 and even 4 before he got in office.
I say give him some time. He probably knows better than you or I do. But this song is just hypocrite. Should've made the video after 6 months of Bush in office.

Yeah, Republicans will never get this. If you tax someone a dollar and then invest it in our children and you get a dollar's worth of benefit, that does not increase the debt.

Ooh, another Serenity quote appropriate to the current Administration:
The Operative (Obama): It's not my place to ask. I believe in something greater than myself. A better world. A world without sin (individual self-interest).
Capt. Malcolm Reynolds: So me and mine gotta lay down and die... so you can live in your better world?
Republicans spend money to "protect the homeland," Democrats spend money to "destroy our future."
If anybody can tell me one thing that has changed for the worse in the time Obama has been in office, other than the news media sound bytes, I'll give you a prize.
Nothing says "ballsy" quite like disabling your ratings. And nothing says "d-bag" like wearing plaid shorts in 2009. Hope you had fun working out and doing fratty comedy at U of W! (a school partially funded, by the way, with tax dollars.)
Hey repubs: you can't co-opt young voters simply by using "new" media. We just laugh at you. No matter how many "yootoobs" or "facebooks" or "twitters" you use, we still know you're a bunch of old white guys who fear change. In order to get young voters, you have to bring your party's politics into the 21st century. Since that's not going to happen, we have just one thing to say to you: lolrepublicans.
Just because you can't realize the enormity of the problems this administration and our nation inherited from too many years of bowing before the GOP's fear tactics, doesn't mean you should stoop to such a childish overview. Ask the GOP how much they spent fighting in Iraq and wasting on corporate subsidies. Oh; nevermind, that would actually take courage...
Taxes? Didn't 95% of Americans (not the 5% wealthiest, but the rest of us) just received a tax cut? Bush/GOP Congress= 850 BILLION DOLLAR BIG GOVERNMENT Prescription drug benefit, not budgeted, or paid for. 750 Billion dollar tax cut for the wealthy, not budgeted or paid for. 800 BILLION DOLLAR Iraq war, not budgeted or paid for. ALL OF THIS FOR THE NEXT GENERATION TO PAY FOR.
Obama=Tax cut for the rest of us, 700 billion dollar HEALTH CARE REFORM, budgeted and paid for.
ok seriously? yes bush was a big government guy who spent alot of money he shouldn't have - on the things you mentioned. but what on earth do you mean "Obama=Tax cut for the rest of us?" Nothing that has been proposed in the near future will do that. And the health care reform? It may be "paid for" in the budget, but after operating 1-2 years, that budget will not come close to covering the skyrocketing costs.
No, Obama did not cut taxes. He gave you a 1-time stimulus. Instead of sending another check, he reduced the amount withheld every week. If you work 2 jobs, you'll probably owe money next April.
Bush gave 2 tax cuts. First an income tax cut which didn't affect the post dot-com economy. The second cut, on capital gains, jolted us out of recession.
I'm confused why people are ripping him to shreds as a Republican, when he clearly blames Bush as part of the problem, too. He's mocking deficits and debt, not either political party, because both are responsible. Democrats are just continuing the trend.
Note that the congressman who played this video in the GOP meeting (hence CNN's interest) freaking voted *for* the largest tax hike in history. (Cap & Tax...I mean, Cap & Trade.)
Says the guy who listens to bush.. one of the least talented bands to ever come out of the 90s. The only thing Gavin Rosdale did right was hook up with Gwen Stefani.
You shouldn't be judging other people's music with that crap; but I agree this is bad music; however his message is clear I think.
But I suppose you don't actually listen to the lyrics of the bands you listen to.. right? ;)
I guess for retards that want their president to be cool rather than make wise decisions with our money. I guess this would look dumb.
The GOP is about politics; they aren't in the business of making Music Superstars, but I suppose I'm asking the Trolls on here to use their brains a little too much.
Besides again if you were paying attention this guy bashed bush in his video when saying "Ive seen this same old type of overspending before. " and it went to a pic of George W. bush
What's interesting furthermore is that if anyone actually paid attention early on in the video part of the lyrics say "we've seen this kind of spending before" and then flashing to George W. Bush; which I'm guessing is eluding to the massive cost of the war in iraq.
Funny how people are so quick to bash him without even listening to what he had to say. He's against idiotic spending in general.. not necessarily a republican fan boy.
Well, that's a little convenient, isn't it? Were was he back then? Did he produce a video protesting the war? Where is the "song" protesting the massive doubling of the National Debt during Good Times? You know, the times were you are supposed to Lower the Debt, in order to have the flexibility to Raise the Debt when times are dire. That is how it works. That's how it's always been and always be.
When your economy is good you have the ability to spend money because your GDP to debt ratio is in favor of you. However when the economy is bad and your GDP ratio becomes 97.5 in 2010 compared to 61.5 in 2006.. then yes; spending money does not make sense fiscally because you will not recover that money anytime soon.
More spending during times like these tend to lead to inflation and even more dangerous; stagflation.
Instead of speaking from emotion do some research.
and just to be clear before you start talking about we had no right to be in that war..
I am talking about spending vs spending.. not the war vs spending.
I understand the arguments surrounding the war but we are specifically talking about spending during certain economic variables in play. Not what type of spending is moral or not.
I prefer moral; but at the current moment I would prefer our monetary unit and country not go down the crapper.
Tell me how many jobs is that going to create.. the bulk of this is a spending bill;
You know what stimulates the economy.. lower taxes. Lower taxes means companies can hire more people (because they have more money).. if more people are working then they have more money.. if everyone has more money then they can buy things..
If you raise taxes and the economy is flatlining and unemployment rates rise then The economy suffers.
I don't dislike Obama but his economic policy is a bunch of BS.
You mean where people on the upper end of the tax cut bracket get $20 extra in their paycheck a week.. or the people on the lower end of the bracket who get about $10 extra a week in their paycheck.
Next time you try to make what you believe to be a snappy come back you should research the ridiculousness of yours statement. Those tax cuts are a red herring and if you don't see it then you're beyond hope.
Next time try answering questions instead of snotty remarks. So now tax cuts are red herrings. What is it? Tax cuts are essential to stimulate the economy, or are they red herrings.
Really? I didn't see you ask a question. Unless you meant asking me if I thought that was BS; which I felt didn't need an answer. My point of view is clear.
Yes, $20 a week is not going to help stimulate the economy. Especially in a recession where job loss is at nearly 10% and rising, the job market is stagnant.
If they were interested in stimulating the economy, for 1 trillion dollars we could've been tax free for 3 months. That WOULD stimulate the economy.
Remember the tax cuts from 2001 and 2003? What did they do for job creation?
Let me give you the job numbers for the entire 8 years of the Bush Administration. "payroll jobs are up only 1.6% (0.2% annual rate). That's far and away the slowest 8 year gain on record. In the 8 years of Clinton, jobs grew by 20.7% (2.38% annual rate). In the 70 years of available data, jobs have grown at an annual rate of 2.2%. For the 62 years before Bush the average was 2.4%."
Here is a list of some of the things included in the stimulus 6billion to renovate gov. buildings to be more "green" 700mill for New hybrid vehicles (the gov. just bought new federal vehicles last year) 25mill for ATV trails 400mill for STD prevention 400mill for endowment of the arts 400mill for global warming research 20mill to renovate the national mall 200mill for a contraceptive service 30bill for construction on infrastructure How many of you are going to go out and work construction?

But tax a dollar, spend a dollar --> zero debt.

I think the problem is not that "government's broke". Government is not really supposed to turn a big profit.
The problem is that the private sector is temporarily -broken- and needs to get its act together.
Bush tried to have a 20th century economy instead of moving into the 21st century like the rest of the world is.

They had to disable the ratings - there was no room for a negative 300 score. What a tool.

Hey repubs: you can't co-opt young voters simply by using "new" media. We just laugh at you. No matter how many "yootoobs" or "facebooks" or "twitters" you use, we still know you're a bunch of old white guys who fear change. In order to get young voters, you have to bring your party's politics into the 21st century. Since that's not going to happen, we have just one thing to say to you: lolrepublicans.
tehgideon 2 years ago
Just because you can't realize the enormity of the problems this administration and our nation inherited from too many years of bowing before the GOP's fear tactics, doesn't mean you should stoop to such a childish overview. Ask the GOP how much they spent fighting in Iraq and wasting on corporate subsidies. Oh; nevermind, that would actually take courage...

um, Australia and the UK are failing how?
By having much lower public debt?
By spending less of their respective GDPs than the US on healthcare and yet covering ALL people with comparable or superior service?
By have comparable per capita incomes?
By achieving better results in canvas surveys of mathematics and english at every grade level?
The list, sadly for America, goes on.

Obama=Tax cut for the rest of us, 700 billion dollar HEALTH CARE REFORM, budgeted and paid for.
denoyer 2 years ago
ok seriously? yes bush was a big government guy who spent alot of money he shouldn't have - on the things you mentioned. but what on earth do you mean "Obama=Tax cut for the rest of us?" Nothing that has been proposed in the near future will do that. And the health care reform? It may be "paid for" in the budget, but after operating 1-2 years, that budget will not come close to covering the skyrocketing costs.
palrich8 2 years ago

Says the guy who listens to bush.. one of the least talented bands to ever come out of the 90s. The only thing Gavin Rosdale did right was hook up with Gwen Stefani.
You shouldn't be judging other people's music with that crap; but I agree this is bad music; however his message is clear I think.
But I suppose you don't actually listen to the lyrics of the bands you listen to.. right? ;)

The GOP is about politics; they aren't in the business of making Music Superstars, but I suppose I'm asking the Trolls on here to use their brains a little too much.
Besides again if you were paying attention this guy bashed bush in his video when saying "Ive seen this same old type of overspending before. " and it went to a pic of George W. bush
Why u mad?

Let's not forget the money set aside to hand out to failing companies (many of which are still failing) with no strings attached.
The government can't even find what the companies and banks did with this money. No one was held accountable.
Is no one else furious over this?
daihashi 2 years ago
What's interesting furthermore is that if anyone actually paid attention early on in the video part of the lyrics say "we've seen this kind of spending before" and then flashing to George W. Bush; which I'm guessing is eluding to the massive cost of the war in iraq.
Funny how people are so quick to bash him without even listening to what he had to say. He's against idiotic spending in general.. not necessarily a republican fan boy.
daihashi 2 years ago
Well, that's a little convenient, isn't it? Were was he back then? Did he produce a video protesting the war? Where is the "song" protesting the massive doubling of the National Debt during Good Times? You know, the times were you are supposed to Lower the Debt, in order to have the flexibility to Raise the Debt when times are dire. That is how it works. That's how it's always been and always be.
wprange 2 years ago
When your economy is good you have the ability to spend money because your GDP to debt ratio is in favor of you. However when the economy is bad and your GDP ratio becomes 97.5 in 2010 compared to 61.5 in 2006.. then yes; spending money does not make sense fiscally because you will not recover that money anytime soon.
More spending during times like these tend to lead to inflation and even more dangerous; stagflation.
Instead of speaking from emotion do some research.
daihashi 2 years ago
and just to be clear before you start talking about we had no right to be in that war..
I am talking about spending vs spending.. not the war vs spending.
I understand the arguments surrounding the war but we are specifically talking about spending during certain economic variables in play. Not what type of spending is moral or not.
I prefer moral; but at the current moment I would prefer our monetary unit and country not go down the crapper.
daihashi 2 years ago
Tell me how many jobs is that going to create.. the bulk of this is a spending bill;
I don't dislike Obama but his economic policy is a bunch of BS.
daihashi 2 years ago
The only part of the Stimulus that has been in place are exactly that: tax cuts.
Are you telling me now that that was BS?
wprange 2 years ago
You mean where people on the upper end of the tax cut bracket get $20 extra in their paycheck a week.. or the people on the lower end of the bracket who get about $10 extra a week in their paycheck.
Next time you try to make what you believe to be a snappy come back you should research the ridiculousness of yours statement. Those tax cuts are a red herring and if you don't see it then you're beyond hope.
daihashi 2 years ago
Next time try answering questions instead of snotty remarks. So now tax cuts are red herrings. What is it? Tax cuts are essential to stimulate the economy, or are they red herrings.
wprange 2 years ago
Consider it snide; because I am.
daihashi 2 years ago
Instead we get to get almost NOTHING for our money and in addition to the trillion we get to pay over 300 billion in interest on it. Terrific.
So I ask you again; 1 trillion with 300 billion in interest to get $20 a week in tax cuts?
Get a clue
daihashi 2 years ago
Let me give you a clue:
Remember the tax cuts from 2001 and 2003? What did they do for job creation?
Let me give you the job numbers for the entire 8 years of the Bush Administration. "payroll jobs are up only 1.6% (0.2% annual rate). That's far and away the slowest 8 year gain on record. In the 8 years of Clinton, jobs grew by 20.7% (2.38% annual rate). In the 70 years of available data, jobs have grown at an annual rate of 2.2%. For the 62 years before Bush the average was 2.4%."
