Good instruction vid. But lipos can handle being drained to 3V per cell minimum, 3.7 is just the good balanced charged that they're best kept at. Basically its 4.2V max charge, 3.7V balanced charge and 3V minimum.
I recently got the Pro version of the 1/10 scale Sunfire buggy and a 2 cell 5000mah Lithium Polymer battery for it. It is a blast to drive around the neighborhood, but the rear drive shafts keep breaking and the joint cups that the drive shafts go into keep wearing grooves in themselves where the pins on the drive shafts slide into the slits. I have replaced the joint cups, gotton new drive shafts but they still break. Any ideas? Its making me sad because I love to drive this thing :/
@smeelokilo You can put something in between the dog bones and joint cups to keep the dog bones from moving. Maybe a piece of foam or a rubber o-ring.
@nitrorcx Well, I stuffed foam in the joint cups and I haven't broke an axle and it doesn't look like they are wearing into the joint cups anymore BUT.. The rear axles.. twist and bend. No I do not tow anything or hold the car from moving in any way... This just happens from normal driving. Do you guys offer thicker axles that telescope instead of go into a joint cup like the traxxas cars have? If I could get those it'd be awesome...
@smeelokilo At the moment we don't have thicker axles or axles that's like the ones that comes with the Traxxas items. Do you still have the stock motor on the buggy? The axles should be more than enough to handle the stock brushless motor that comes with the Sunfire.
@nitrorcx Yes, It is completely stock except for the battery. As stated above I got a 2 cell 5000mah 20C Lipo for it. I had the ESC cutting off after 3-4 seconds issue with the stock NiMH battery.
@smeelokilo Several years ago we had a issue with the dog bones twisting and what not but this is the first case that I have heard of since then. Get another set and test them out and see if it still breaks. The manufacture is using stronger steel to make the dog bones so there shouldn't be the issue.
@nitrorcx I ordered new ones and they snapped/bent also :/ Would jumping the buggy cause this at all? There is a pathway of monkey grass that I like to jump with the car but it's not a big jump, maybe 1 1/2 feet of air at most and I broke an axle shortly after doing this once.
@smeelokilo No that wouldn't cause them to break, we have jumped out cars off of skateboard ramps and the axles never broke. Are you jumping the monkey grass repeatedly?
Agh u made me feel bad cos I got a 1800mah and a 3000mah tymia 7.2v and same combo but the bran is inix racing so u mean my car can only run for about 10 mins on both these batteries?

@Ch2is86 nihm battery over 4000 is just as quick as a Lipo and very cheap i have the set up with a 6500 nihm and tested it with a 2 cell lipo 4600 7.4v and the nihm had more peak just trim the ESC card to more punch and change the degree to highest hope this helps

@killersushi99 7,4V is always 2cell 11,1 is 3 cell..... Basicly every cell is 3,7 volt so 2cell is 7,4 and 3 cell 11,1 4 cell is 14,8 and so on........Also you should be able to read on the fan what the max voltage is on it...

i wouldnt use the 35amp system in a 4wd buggy or a truck. its perfect for a on-road car or drifter. you should really use the ez-run 60amp system for trucks or anything running offroad.

@diegotutiven each and every brushless motor has a kv level. the higher the kv the faster your vehucle will be. i have a 7800kv motor in my rc18t and its way faster than my sc10 witha 3300kv brushless motor.

video has bad information. Nominal voltage for a lipo is 3.7, the stop discharge point is normally 2.2 volts. Stopping a lipo cell at 3.4volts would waste 80% of it's power.

@yuitrrew This is for Hobby-grade vehicles only. Radio Shack sells cheap toys, not hobby-grade vehicles. Check out Team Losi, Traxxas, or HPI. These three companies offer rtr (ready to run) vehicles with brushless motor's/speed controls, and they are much higher quality than this EZ-run system.
This system works well.... I'm using the 7700kv Ezrun motor and system with lipo 5000 Mah for my 1:10 scale onroad Team Associated TC5. I had it for around 1 year and it works very good! Nice Video!
@mc47981 Actually it's very true. EZ-run makes their products "budget quality". There is almost no parts/costumer support with this Hong Kong company, and CC has outstanding support. CC systems are also much more tuneable. If you are short on money and don't plan on running your vehicle hard enough to break the motor/esc, then consider EZ-Run, otherwise you're better off with CC, Novak, or LRP.

@nitrorcx Hi there I have recently bought the HSP xeme pro (brushless) and I'm wanting to increase my run times, as with my stock minh 7.2v 2000mah battery, im only getting around 3 minutes run time after full charge. What do you recommend, better nimh, or lipo, lipos are a little expensive, and so are their chargers, and a little to complicated as well, as I'm only wanting to use a wall charger. I am thinking of getting a 4000mah 7.2v nimh. please help me with my decision. cheers

@diegotutiven It's The KV rating that tells you how fast it is.
Basically 2000KV Means 2000rpm. PER VOLT. 2 cell lipo 7.4 volts = 14, 800 rpm.
higher KV higher speeds. But higher Kv means less torque and power.

@diegotutiven each and every brushless motor has a kv level. the higher the kv the faster your vehucle will be. i have a 7800kv motor in my rc18t and its way faster than my sc10 witha 3300kv brushless motor.

video has bad information. Nominal voltage for a lipo is 3.7, the stop discharge point is normally 2.2 volts. Stopping a lipo cell at 3.4volts would waste 80% of it's power.

@yuitrrew This is for Hobby-grade vehicles only. Radio Shack sells cheap toys, not hobby-grade vehicles. Check out Team Losi, Traxxas, or HPI. These three companies offer rtr (ready to run) vehicles with brushless motor's/speed controls, and they are much higher quality than this EZ-run system.

This system works well.... I'm using the 7700kv Ezrun motor and system with lipo 5000 Mah for my 1:10 scale onroad Team Associated TC5. I had it for around 1 year and it works very good! Nice Video!

@mc47981 Actually it's very true. EZ-run makes their products "budget quality". There is almost no parts/costumer support with this Hong Kong company, and CC has outstanding support. CC systems are also much more tuneable. If you are short on money and don't plan on running your vehicle hard enough to break the motor/esc, then consider EZ-Run, otherwise you're better off with CC, Novak, or LRP.
