I love that red coupe with black leather and 5-spd. I think everyone that complains is forgetting it's an ECONOMY CAR! It's not a high dollar European coupe/sedan! And forget the better European Focus. It would be too expensive to be considered an economy car in the US. That being said, I think it's a stylish and flashy economy car. It makes the Cobalt coupe/sedan look like a kitchen appliance. I really like the European edge this car has to its styling and I'm a whore for chrome trim.
Looks great. I'm thinking about getting one. imo the exterior and especially the interior is a lot better than the euro Focus. Yeah the euro platform might be better, but it probably raises the cost as well.
This car is horrible. It's really depressing how we're still stuck with the original "updated" Focus that looks like it was styled by the Chinese while Europeans get the new and sexy 3rd generation car.
Looks like ford ran out of ideas and thought the Hyundai Tiburon (?) fender scoop looked cool. I'm just waiting for the government issue cat poop tan color of the escort to come back, that's all the U.S. version of the new Focus is worth.
Those rear tailights are a little tinny, but that drive by provided great engine sound. The focus is right up there with the cobalt coupe in styling now, let's not disappoint the male demographic who are already drooling for the turbo 2.3 to someday make it's way from MS3 into a focus and show every other compact out there who's boss. Or at least some kind of performance version. A "man car".
Ford went back to blah with the focus. I think what made it good at the start was stand-out styling. The earlier models look better than the old. I even like the European models a lot better than the U.S. models. I like my hatchback version, which they got rid of due to sales. I don't think I'd buy one of these new models.
I agree, but most Corn fed American's like coupes such as a Cavalier-Cobalt. Its to bad as the Foci Hatch (espcially the SVT) had great euro enthusiast appeal.
We've had this car in all years since the first Focus and loved them all except the first year. It has become a better and better car every year. I thought our 07 was the max and really didn't think it could be bettered. Well, after a long test drive, I couldn't believe how much better this car is overall than our earlier ones. I'm getting it!!
This definitely is an improvement on the existing car. Ford's gunna really do it with the next engineering for sure. But let me ask... Toyota get's lauded for continuous improvement, why should we dump on Ford for the same thing>
My dad is friends with the head designer of ford. He said it was difficult for him to get the new focus approved by the board. They said he was "making it too edgy, not safe enough"

I think the dash could have been more round than flat, but other than that I like it.

nearly anything for the MZR engine works with this engine, because Duratec I4's = Mazda MZR (without the VVT, you can add that on too;))

oooo... That good to know.
