Of course the non smokers like this. They fail to see the big picture though. More freedom lost, business owners losing the right to make decisions in regards to their own property. Its all very sad. The owner should have the right to chose. Let the non smokers go to non smoking businesses and smokers go to the ones that allow it. Everyone is happy. But I guess its not the same unless they force everyone to do it. This world is getting pathitic and its adverage person is scared of everything.
The above, is the "mile" non-smokers will have before they're done. They'll not stop at 'indoor smoking bans'.
It starts at a 'voluntary' program. Then, shifts to an imposition.
Even indoor bans only, cause tax revenue loss.
Then, the federal, state, county & local governments must replace enormous tax revenue losses by taxing smokers & non-smokers heavilly on something else [property tax - etc]. Smokers will save money. Non-smokers will make up the difference for lost revenues.
Honolulu gross liquor sales from late night bars; 2003 = $34.1 million 2004 = $34.8 million 2005 = $35.1 million 2006 = $36.4 million 2007 = $29.27 million post ban -20% RAW Number of stand-alone bars 2003 = 366 2004 = 357 2005 = 359 2006 = 349 ( ban in November ) 2007 = 329 ! A RECORD DECLINE! That's with some places letting people brake the law just to survive. :(
I was in France and they still smoke! It is not enforced!

Give non-smokers an Inch, they'll TAKE a mile.
The same type of ban was imposed on alcohol, here in America, and bred a profitable black-market & mafia.
Special police units were formed, at tax-payers expense. Much like America's DEA, which does little, if anything, to slow the smuggling of drugs.
Another unforseen event, is a massive tax revenue loss amounting to Billions per month.
What will the government tax in its stead?
Gas, food, or additional alcohol taxes? Use your imagination.
