  • Three people trying in vain to run away from their fate, is how I read it.

The guy doing the spoken part in the middle sounds an awful lot like William Daniels. His best known role was playing the short-fused Dr. Craig on "St. Elsewhere," but at this time, he was in a "Batman" knockoff called "Captain Nice." Probably a case of early career embarrassment for him.

  • Life is a rock but the radio rolled me,at the end of the day is a golden oldie. this song took me 15 years to id on my want list. The last holdout,of 50 tunes.

  • Not a big record nationally, but did make our local top 40 radio station survey here in OKC. Good post. Haven't heard this one since I last played it on an oldies show I did a few years ago.

  • 0:29 Was that the same famous NYC billboard that appeared in the "All For The Best" scene in Godspell?

  • joey levine was the lead singer,he was also lead singer and co writer of yummy yummy yummy by the ohio express .

he is now a pretty famous jingle writer among other things.

  • I'd forgotten about this song until just a few minutes ago after Googling the Nuggets set...

  • Truly futuristic .. Frankie Vallie really needs to do this ..

    .. the Words.. Futuristic!

    .. the set .. Futuristic!

.. the grave -- at the end of that long tunnel

.. we run run run through our life ..

    -- truly Futuristic!

  • I actually have the LP on epic records. . This is a great song that is relatively unknown.

  • Dit doet mij zo aan mijn kindertijd denken. Ik vind jou video's echt te gek!!!!!

  • I wonder if the director of the film "The Graduate" ever looked at this promotional music video. Since this vid. would have been out before "The Graduate" was finished filming, I might not be surprised if they did. The running in this vid. is very similiar to the running Dustin Hoffman & Katherine Ross did in "The Graduate". Yes, very 1968 indeed is this video.

  • this was done '67

  • wow... a Westclock. 0:35

  • Very 1968 Cool Stuf

  • ooh I am flabbergasted, I just played this out of curiosity, and thought, "Gee that voice sounds familiar!" - Thanks spy4863 for the info, I also love Joey Levine & all his vinyl incarnations & this is another!

  • The singer also did Yummy Yummy Yummy (I got love in my tummy) in 1968

  • decouvert sur la compile geniale NUGGETS en 1973 il y a aussi une compile cd superbe du third rail .

  • Anyway, thanks so much for bringing back this fantastic song! I hope you don't mind my recording the audio part on my tape-I just had to have it!

  • This is wonderful! i love anything that features the wonderful nasally voice of Joey Levine! And the song is a great song by itself too! I was just telling a friend of mine about The Third Rail. I didn't think he would even know who were, but then he says, "Oh yeah! They did a great song called 'Run Run Run'!" Well, my mouth just dropped to the floor! "You DO know about The Third Rail!" I gasped! I had my audio tape hat I made from Youtube of the song, so I played it, and he loved it!

  • Excellent!

  • great song just couldn't hear it very well

  • I love this song...

  • Nice Bro!!

  • Now what would have been cool is if some one used clips of the movie Run Lola Run for this song.

  • Great stuff
