  • Someone should combine Bobby Vinton and Royksopp's version together into 1 song

  • I love this song so much!

Dedicated, to my dear Nicky, I love and miss you so much!

    RIP.

  • cracking tune!!

  • Thanks for the post.I put it on my page check us out on Facebook The Official Oldies Channel on your Facebook searchbar thanks

  • the mother of my child has left me. this song does something to me.

  • thumbs up if trailer park boys brought you here.

  • @Tucker2121 stfu.

  • Bobby Vinton, Bobby Vee and Gene Pitney are all great singers and remind me of each other. In their day they were good, very good, and their music is still popular today on oldies stations. Special music by special singers. I really like the "blue" songs by Bobby. And the none "blue" songs as well.

  • @jimidee33 While Bobby Vee, Bobby Vinton were great singers they simply didn't have the range Gene Pitney had, not even close. Pitney could reduce you to tears.

  • @Tonithenightowl Cannot argue your point. Gene was a very emotional singer with great range. He is missed.

  • @jimidee33 I think we who like these artists have a special place for tenors in our hearts. Pitney, Orbison, Jay Black, Vinton, S. Robinson, Vee, Hyland and one not usually recognized but without a doubt one of the best, Johnny Contardo of Sha na na fame. All brought such emotion to their music. You just don't see this caliber today. If from the 60's era we saw the greatest music ever produced in my humble opinion. Thanks for responding.

  • @Tonithenightowl Agree! I saw Jay Black on a PBS doo wop special last night. Jay (formerly of Jay and the Americans) sang wonderfully, and in that high tenor like a young man! Incredible. A real show stopper. All those you mention are familiar to me and I truly enjoy them all; each and every one. You're welcome for the response. We enjoy these great singers and performers. What a special era that truly was!

  • @jimidee33 lol At 58 I remember it well, and truly, if I had to exchange the music of the 60's to be young again today well I would just have to say nahhhh I don't think so. I am so glad I was there for that era. it's worth being old today lol We had the best music ever written.

  • I believe that should be August, 1963. If it were 1863, it would have chartered during the Civil War. Anyone know of any vintage victrolas from that time?

  • I believe that should be August, 1963

  • @potter660 fat finger on wrong number :(

  • what year was this song out

  • @meterman432110 August 1863

  • Great lyrics!!!... We got a STRONG CHORUS here, but melodically, compared to the chorus, the verses don't hold up. I loved this song--that's why I'm commenting.!!

What a great time it was!!! :-)

  • beautiful..such a sad song..almost brings a tear..thanks for the post

  • Tough song - for those of us who have "been there" already.

  • Thumbs up if Trailer Park Boys brought you here.

  • I find myself singing this song so many times in the past two weeks for no reason. Decided to check and see if it was here on YT. Love Bobby Vinton. So much teenage angst! Takes me back to the 60's for sure. :)

  • MAN I LOVE THIS SONG...REMINDS ME OF BEING A KID AGAIN!!

  • I saw Bobby Vinton this summer at the Toronto Bandshell. I am 21 and I LOVE Bobby Vinton. This song ranks as the saddest one I have ever heard in my books.

Still trying to wrap my mind around the meaning of 'blue on blue'. So simple, yet so deep. Unbelievable talent and lyrics without parrallel.

  • @dokemow13 COULD HE STILL SING AS GOOD AS THIS? MAN I WOULD LOVE TO SEE HIM!

  • @faroutlindsey Yes, surprisingly for his age, he was excellent! I didn't know he was alive still so when I found out he was playing, I just had to see him! It was great!

  • @dokemow13 wish i could see him! really wish i could take my sis to see him...she is 7 years older then me and she loved and loves 50s early 60s music...the beatles and the british invasion and later psychedelic ,was my time...thank you for the info!!

  • Sheer magic!! one of my Fav..warm "N"easy for your listening Pleasure!!!!! lol.....

  • Great song, like so much of Burt Bacharach. Great performance here by Bobby.

  • This is so strange after hearing the Röyksopp sample...

  • great voice

  • Burt Bacharach and Jimmy Webb were the most gifted songwriters of the sixties. This yearningly winsome song deserves to have been recorded more. Bobby Vinton never sounded better.
