just watched this film, it was great. Eerie how it was made it 97' and foreshadowed how much our current government functions (using bullshit scare tactics to manipulate the general public)

Not really Eerie. They have been fabricating some of the news, particularly regarding wars and stirring up fear for a long time. Possible since the beginning of TV. I've seen some old examples where alleged 'live footage' from war zones have clearly been filmed in a studio.

This was really a prediction (probably from someone in the know) that it was about to become a bigger and more common deception.

@explorer2101 Ya, Adam Curtis' BBC documentary series touch on a lot of that. He has several of them and I haven't had the chance to watch all yet, but the ones I have seen (The Power of Nightmares, The Century Of The Self) have been absolutely incredible. I would highly suggest checking them out if you haven't already (especially The Power of Nightmares)

I just saw this movie yesterday. Loved it. De Niro and Hoffman are the perfect caste. They complement each other well. I really enjoyed watching the two of them doing there thing. Great.

I loved this tune. I wasn't sure if I would find it. But really, really great tune. Awesome.

Mark Knopfler is such a genius guitarist. Brilliant.
