I am getting a 125gallon from a friend and it has a crack in the glass. I am thinking buying a piece of Plexiglas and and using silicon to cover the crack. The plexyglass will be much larger than the crack. Do you think it will work?
thanks. when i first set it up i did a 50% water change every week. now that it is cycled i do a 50% water change every two weeks. water quality is key.
im using regular day max full spectrum flourescent bulbs. i have 8 t12 bulbs which is 320 watts. no ferts and no co2. these are all low/med light plants and seem to be doing alright.
this is by far the BEST freshwater set up ive EVER seen! great job!

@1992pattrow too risky. it is a lot of water that can cause lots of damage. i would just replace the glass plate or getting a new or undamaged tank.
jaysen223 1 year ago
@1992pattrow try it but fill it up out side and leave it for a few weeks to make sure its ok

Beautiful tank. 1:23 minutes in you show a nice structure with plant growth, what exactly is that and how did you get it to do that?
My fancy tailed fish eat every plant in the tank till there is nothing left. How do you keep your plants staying in the ground as well?
Your tank is beautifully established looking.

How did you get the grass to grow on the log etc?
timstephen19 3 years ago
that is java moss. get a baunch of it, spread it on the wood, and tie it down with fishing line. it will grow out of control over time.
jaysen223 3 years ago
Wish I could give your video higher than 5.
