Just a smal note: it seems to me a little bit reductionist to just make 3 divisons or types of Kamis: spirits of nature, ancestors, and beings who have been "kamized". And the great gods, cosmological gods, like Ameno or Amaterasu? Just spirits of Nature? Also it doesn't fit to me completely to say they are just in this natural world. May be I would say that there is a spiritual world, from where the Kamis come to visit or bless us...

@petrustella Yes, good point . I was trying to give a simple short introduction. But I am not an expert just an interested student, I was trying to introduce what I had learned as best I could.

@petrustella I believe there is a heavenly realm in Shinto. I think it's called Takamagahara. However, I'm not entirely sure.

@kaiserarab @kaiserarab Feel free to add any useful information or corrections.The Japanese characters Shinto no Kamisama, literally The gods of Shinto. If you wish to also translate shinto, it is It means literally Way of the gods. But "gods of way of the gods" doesn't make much sense. In learning about shinto I read "shinto the way home" By Professor Thomas p Kasulis.and various other books by shinto practicioners. I also consulted several shinto priests But naturally any mistakes are mine
