Septic Flesh were an incredibly unique band in the mid 90's. not to say they aren't distinctive now but with 'Esoptron', they came up with a spellbinging gothic/doom/death hybrid that is totally original. The songs are both straight forward, as well as complex, and the arrangements are creative and dense.

Pentagram - The Doom Metal-band or the amazing death/black-band? The prior is worthy, albeit a bit rocky, the latter is a yes.
Deicide up until 4th album - Arguably the best death metal band in existence on their 2 first. The latter two are worthy, but not of the same grade.
Cradle of Filth - Go kill yourself, is what I would have said if not for the other bands. Stop listening the them.
Deviser - Yes.
