The reason their generals are "over powered" is that they fight you with their family member generals. And the AI is a lot better at fighting on hard, they might get a small bonus but you tend to over exaggerate a lot. like this so he can see
I love these campaigns you make Heir, I am currently trying one as Egypt and they seem very good, they make a lot of money very fast, they have a very good selection of troops and they have a few island settlements, which can be very useful later in the campaign.
Egypt will own most factions early in the game because of their archers and what not. The AI always recruits nothing but Pharaoh's bowmen...drives me nuts.
yeh after i had won the long campaign with the brutii, i basically had all of europe except for britian, and the egyptians pounded me again and again and i eventually gave up, their ai is freaking insane, theres no way they can make so many units so fast :(
Yesterday, I started a campaign with the Macedonians. Now, even though I took Athens, I lost Corinth, and all my cities are besieged. Also, I am at war with the Greek Confederacy, the Roman Republic (headed here by the Brutus family), and the Kingdoms of Thrace and Numidia.
I usually try to focus my attention at the beginning, then as my power and money build I will open many fronts. As the Macedonians I would get the Greeks of the peninsula as soon as you can and that will close one war, then push the Brutii back to Italy.
Nice man. Got me hyped for the next one. Keep it up! I actually thought you were going to corner camp but you did a bold thing there. 5 stars! (actually, I know I can put 5 stars before seeing any of your videos, because they are AWESOME)
great vid I remember a similliar seige battle agaibst SPQR when taking rome they had an army inside the city and outside the city I stoped the army outside by capturing all the gateways and they were powerless to stop me from taking Rome
i cant belive u won that battle i would have ran away probobly when i saw the odds.... i always get scared when they have missle type units and i dont
medium or normal what ever. When you put the PC on very hard they just give the AI units extra morale and their tactics still suck. So then your whole army usually chain routes because the AI has ridiculous morale. I quit playing on very hard after a battle once where a unit of legionary cavalry plowed right into the front of a unit of my sacred band infantry and instantly routed them whilst they were in phalanx mode.
ya i usally play normal or hard i got sick of hard on campaign playing as romans or creeks because the eygtions have lots of armys just gets boreing and auto manage battles are lame (u lose) at least they are improveing the ai sowly over each game
great job heir. However, I think the computer is no match for you. Maybe u could start a RTR VII campaign with carthage, in honour of ur name. It would defenetly be a more challenging and entertaining campaign to watch and plan!

Any recommendations?

the only phalanx unit the hastati can kill easily [at least from my experience on my campaign] is militia hoplites
MrUnclepeanuts 2 years ago
That and spear warbands.
HeirofCarthage 2 years ago
yh lol its ashame the first parts of roman campaign you have to use those heir do you know a cheat to get legionares instead of hastati?

play a RTW campaign on hard/hard
then the AI has huge armies, but is still not quite as "effective" as a human player xp
romanphoenix999 2 years ago
Yea I hate hard settings because the AI still uses the same sucky tactics, but just has cheatingly high levels of morale for its troops.
HeirofCarthage 2 years ago
Yea it was nice.

sprogmcjob 2 years ago
I think it is just on normal settings. The PC cheats enough on normal.
HeirofCarthage 2 years ago
Great slaughter mate lol it cost half your force but itll be easily replenished
WRH90059 2 years ago
Yea one of the Roman generals bodyguard units plowed right through the front of my phalanx and kill half my infantry before they died.
