However, from my understanding the HST has been defeated/repealed in BC, but it still doesn't negate hyper-inflation & rent gouging that puts many households into risk of further food insecurity.

@Halo4Lyf Thank you for your service. I'm a veteran myself Army1965-68. I still volunteer at the VA as a patient driver a couple of time a month. I would say that all the people I've been associated with in USDOR love this country too. Many get stereotyped as commies or worse just because Fox News wants to portray them as such. But there isn't really much truth to it. Mainly I feel our election process has been corrupted by unrestricted corporate influence and money and want to put a stop to it.

@artistdogboy Perhaps if don't want to be lumped in with the likes of World Can't Wait and Socialist Party USA, then you shouldn't allow them at your rallies? People are often judged by the company they keep, and for good reason, because it reflects on them.

And we'd have to agree to disagree on corporate influence in elections. People seem to forget that the largest contributors in Federal elections are usually the unions...

@Halo4Lyf Union and Corporate money would be ban entirely. Only individual citizens could make contributions of an agreed upon amount to federal candidates or cause of their choice. When you call for a mass rally you'll get the political fringe.The Tea party is as lame as the left in this area. Socialists have been stereotyped and most people couldn't define what socialism really is if they were asked. Is social security Socialism? Is being a union member socialism? How about corporate welfare?

@artistdogboy Well, the problem is, you got the fringe for sure, but not a whole lot of mass. I didn't see many (or any) average Americans in that crowd, just a lot of spawn of hippies, Paulians, and LaRouchites. I mean, I know it was Manhattan, but that's not even New York normal, is it? Berkeley normal, maybe.

Yeah, the thing about the Tea Party? We (I'm one of them) actually ostracize our fringe and drive them out. Hence why no accusations of racism ever stick.

Yup, because it's involuntary, not to mention grossly unconstitutional (care to point towards the clause that authorizes Uncle Sam to do that kind of thing?). I'd like to see it phased out and abolished over the next 25-30 years. I'm never going to see a dime of it, either way, so I have no vested interest in it continuing.

Are unions socialism? If membership is compulsory, then yes. If not, then no.
