(Shielded from the camera by the agents body) Impossible to tell the actual cause. Unless you have some personal knowledge of the event. I still say it is more likely the finger that "triggered" the event than clothing. Common holster designs pretty much precludes the likelihood that it was the cause.

@gopherdogz i agree with everything youve said. i am from el paso, and yes, i do have personal knowledge of the event, i cant go into detail. but, yes, you are right. everything ive said can only be "assumed" to everyone who is simply watching the video. my personal knowledge, which ive chosen to accept as fact, is that it was not a finger pull. whatever the case, this shouldnt have happened and is indeed, attributable to carelessness on the operators behalf.

A safety switch isn't a good replacement for good trigger-fingger safety practice though. He obviously made the dumbass mistake of putting his finger in the trigger guard while attempting to holster. It's a joke when a supposedly highly trained LE agent makes a mistake like that.

Safeties don't always work, but keeping your finger off the trigger when you aren't intending to shoot something is the best safety.

What bothers me the most is how the Accidental Discharger leaves his weapon on the ground amongst a row of prisoners.

That thoughtless lack of responsibility would be the reason I would fire him, if I were his superior. Many more people could have been killed or wounded because of that action, had there been a bold prisoner in the near vicinity...
