Beautiful quality. I am really quite envious. I get 25-30 fps on high settings (not maxed out but still high), yet when i record the Demos i saved, it drops to a horrid 15-20 fps which is quite poor when watching it back.
I use Fraps, which to my understanding is the best quality recorded, period. What did you use to record your footage? And is that fps still the same with regular gameplay or does it dip down to that 30 fps when recording?
Thanks; I used Fraps yes, What I did was change my screen resolution in game to exactly the HD size for youtube(1270x920 if i remember not sure Is that the HD size for youtube?) but that reduced alot of my lag, try it out. What Screen resolution are you using at the moment? and what is your video cards RAM? (Mines 512mb)
My monitor is 1024x768 so i can't run in a 16:9 format unfortunately. Oddly, i can run it in 16:10 wide screen through the game settings but it reduces to an odd resolution which is almost half the screen size. O.o;;
My Video card is 512mb and one of the best available on the market. 4gb of Ram, Dual-Core, 3ghz: Which is great for playing L4D2 but apparently not for recording!
Hmm, guess i am still a bit stuck on the matter. Thanks for the help so far, appreciated.
The "odd resolution" is probably caused by "over scan" I'm really not sure what your problem is; this is very new to me. Any help I can give is great.
The quality of the visuals are pretty good, even if fraps is recording in half-screen settings (which i tried to do to see if it helped), but the frame rate is the one thing that is ruining the whole video. A horrible FPS ruins the overall outcome.
I uploaded a video recently that was recorded with Fraps in Half-Screen instead of Full, and the game itself running in 800x600 resolution. The frame rate was stable enough but it didn't look that great and lacked details.
This Is very unusual; Have you tried running Game Booster while recording? Also What FPS are you trying to record at? 30 FPS is recommended as fraps changes your frame rate to what you want it to record at.
I am not sure what this 'Game Booster' is to be honest. O_o;;
I've tried recording at 25 fps, 30, 50, and 60. Each one gave me 15-20 fps on average and it didn't make any difference to which setting i had it on, it came out the exact same.
Bear in mind though that when i play the game without Fraps recording i get 25-30 fps on average, which is good and smooth enough. I'd be happy with 20-25 fps but cannot seem to even manage that.
I don't see the difference in this from normal...

Everyone says at my school that consoles have better graphics then PC's... I just laugh at them, at least you got your facts straight.

Either one or the other!

Strange.

Maybe you simply have a better specification Desktop than mine, which is why the game runs at a higher frame rate for you.
