Detroit was a dump back in June 2001 when I was there. This was before 911 and way before economic problems. The city was in ruins, trash everywhere, potholes in the freeways, etc...
The area right by the bridge into Canada was a total war zone. Cross that bridge into Windor and it clean, civilized, and looked like human beings lived there.

Possibly no American city has suffered more from freeways being built to expedite "white flight" than Detroit.
So I'm hoping George doesn't show a video of the inner city because we seen what a disaster area it is for many years. That would be worthless.

I live about 65 north of Detroit.
Gosh it would good to meet up.
But I recommend to film the area of Flint, Detroit, Auburn Hills/Bloomfield Hills/Farmington Hills/Royal Oak areas; these areas will change even more if the Big 3 go out of business.
Also, George on Saturday night check out Leland City Club on Bagley (Detroit) - it's a goth/industrial/alternative club, and it's open until 4:30 am. I know you can bring a cell phone in there & I'm pretty sure you can bring a small

I just saw a vid that was put up by GuerillaNewsNetwork. Rumours about a possible birdflu attack in the near future. It looks pretty serious to me...! Was driving through Michigan two years ago, never been there before, was going through Flynt, thought I saw a smokestack smoking, so I left the freeway, and when I got to the source of the smoke, it was someone's house... no fire-trucks around, no cop cars, no sirens, just me, and a lot of people who didn't look like me looking at me. Never been back to Michigan since.

One interesting thing to check out will be the east side urban prairies. There is a line, literally a six foot canal, between total devastation and a wealth area with the top 200th hs in the nation. It's one of the starkest poverty lines in the nation.

There were these loud fighter planes they were flying over our business in the GETTO Grand River & Linwood. For two days the first day they were higher in the air the second day it was so sudden, loud and low to the ground that our customers crawled under their cars, we crawled under our front end loader.
About a month ago they dumped a dead body off, we have been broken in two times in the last 5 days. The crack heads cut the entire gate down

GEORGE Whatever you do DO NOT sleep under a bridge. If it rains you will be SOAKED in caked mud. You would be better off sleeping in a field and just getting soaked in rain water. this happened to me once in Omaha, I had to find some place to wash my clothes and take shower to get all the mud out.
OH, and don't be to friendly with anybody at the Salley, that's slang for Salvation Army. If they think your a newbie they will rob you and some might get filthy medieval on your ass.

Detroit was a dump back in June 2001 when I was there. This was before 911 and way before economic problems. The city was in ruins, trash everywhere, potholes in the freeways, etc...
The area right by the bridge into Canada was a total war zone. Cross that bridge into Windor and it clean, civilized, and looked like human beings lived there.
George, get a hotel room in Windor and venture into Detroit only during daylight hours. Pack mace, a tazer, and a flare gun.

Detroit has a FEMA Camp, in Livonia, I believe it's at 34691 Schoolcraft Rd, Livonia MI.
Detroit has a cool radio Station that's like GTA3 Chatterbox. Not sure but I think it's 107 FM or 97 FM. Detroit and Flint have been hurting for over 10 years, more like 20. Here in Upstate NY we've been hurting since Nov 2002 from the War Procurance. There were days where I went without food. Tough times.
