I Had Help Fixing My Mega-CD Model 1

Hi does anyone know how to format the mega cd memory? I've went into options and selected format mega cd but it keeps saying it cant!! it wont let me play sonic cd, but other games play fine. Any suggestions?

@Gavin66627 thats the only way to format ur mega cd mate,, go to the cd player,,, go to options,, then format then yes,, some times if u havent used the mega cd in a while it'll ask u to reformat the ram again,, but if it doesnt work ther man im sorry i cant help you,, ask the devilburning,, he knows his sega cd's

I have a model 1 sega cd. It will turn on and open and close fine, but it won't read the discs. Does anyone know how to fix this?

@strictlysega The disc does spin inside. I don't believe it is making any odd noises. No scratching or scrapping noises.

@strictlysega I have the same problem, mega cd 1 power's on fine, displays bios menu, but will not read any discs. The drive does not make any noise at all, though the access light does come on, and drive does eject and close okay. any ideas?

i got mega-cd jap version....when i on the power of mega-cd,it automatically open the cd tray and close it.....every single second,it will do it.....please help me......and also the disc wont spin......

i got mega-cd model 1..my father buy it on 1994....so..when i on the mega-cd..,the sound is not accurate......the sound like shutter..so,please help me...i hope you can make another video for me about the sound...thanks and also sorry for my bad english.....

What kind of AC Adapter does SEGA CD Model 1 use?

Mine I just pulled out from storage and I dropped it. (clumsy me) My 1 gen Genesis and the 32x still works fine but my mega cd drive will power up and show the cute Sega Cd screen with the music but the cd tray will not open when I push the reset button to open it. Any suggestions on how to fix that problem?

well,, i cant promise anything,, but what i think has happened is the latch is caught

open her up,, and look how it closes and locks and how the laser moves up..

loosen it up a bit and perhaps stick a bit of vasoline into the gears to lube it up a bit..

See this is awesome, another classic console given a new lease on life. More enjoyment can be had from it, not like those dicks making money and getting views by microwaving or destroying gaming consoles, I hate that shit! Some people are like "big deal, your just a nerd" but if I were to trash a rare classic automobile they would be like WTF! Save the classic consoles yeah!

HI , i've got the same mega cd as you with the same problem. but i notice that on mine there is a component called TR4 (near the fuse) which has burned so i wonder what did you do with that ? did you let it? or did you fix it?
