  • My email is aintajuicyman@yahoo.com

  • How much would u guys charge to fix the camera because the lens is blocking it

  • what if i did everything but now the sleep and home button wont work? ive been working with it for hours and its driving me mad! the home button will make the little click noise when i use the tip of my nail but if i try to use the button it wont press. and the sleep button doesnt work at all.

  • this is shit after doing it for 2 hours following every step the screen is white what dose this mean.

  • I replaced the screen, it was fun! I accidentely damaged cable which is i think connecting volume and power buttton to the mainboard, so i guess i buy one on ebay and replace it also. I'd loved to see video of this quality about replacing that cable.

  • iJust Replaced my iPod Screen!!!! Great Video!!!!

  • I stupidly watched another video that didnt mention 5:25. Ive pulled the connector off the mainboard that does the headphone jack. Does anyone know a fix for this?

  • Turned on iPod to see if new screen works. It does but it doesn't capture my touch.... Any ideas??

  • @rosefuneral6 The digitizer cable (the one that you have to snap in upside-down is probably not connected properly, had the same problem.

  • Had 2 iPods to repair. The first one, a 8GB is working again.. Had problems fixing the second one, a 32GB. Which had a much stronger adhesive holding the thing together.

The power button isn't working anymore, what could've gone wrong? I've looked but I can't see anything that has been ripped on first inspectation. Can't really get a good look under the mainboard though. Any thoughts. Where to check for damages?

  • Thanks for the great video. Although i messed up and accidently broke the blue wire to the loud speaker. Looks like many people have made this mistake but no fixes . Any idea on how to fix this. I know it needs to be soldered But its on the underside. Thanks for any help , Milton

  • thank god i got a warranty

  • Do you need the tape or can you just snap it together

  • Do you have a store? If so where at? I live in Merced CA

  • So it fell off the table mid-repair. The top of skinny part of the logic board is separate from the bottom, the screen doesn't turn on, the logic board comes up from the housing very far, and the copper tape is ripped off the rear camera. That's all I the damage I can find. Why isn't my screen turning on? There was a cable on the back, top part of the logic board disconnected, but I put it back in. I don't need the camera or speakers, but can I save the logic board or to get it to turn back on?

  • hey i tried what you did with the same knife you used and i rip the midframe on my ipod touch 4th gen and i was wondering how much do you charge me to fix the ipod touch 4th gen midframe.. the midframe is the lil black thing that snaps the ipod touch screen into place.. PLEASE contact me as soon as possible

  • my ipod fell cracke and the screen is white. what parts would i have to buy? just the screen?

  • @sherrimcksunflower Do you mean that bit of copper on the metal plate i tought that was weird ripping that what does it break

  • @kiernan12345

Yes, that is what I ripped off. IIt's unclear what cerealandtoast is talking about.I suggest that you watch other videos to see how they handled that piece. I don't know if my ipod works because I ordered a kit with just the clear glass and I have to wait and see after they ship the missing LCD panel before I know. Sorry I could be of more help.

  • Great video... I watched in HD and was able to follow and see everything that was going on... i replaced my broken screen with no real problems...

  • i did all of the steps and all i get is a white screen what did i do wrong, and can i fix it?

  • @nicole33455 Further down in the comments we do address this, you may need to do a hard reset by holding the Home Button and Power/Sleep button at the same time for 10 seconds. The device will turn off and then on again shortly thereafter. If that does not work, then hook it up to your computer and do a restore via iTunes. This will erase your data that is not backed-up. Either one of those should help.

  • @DigiExpress thanks for this tip!!! i thought i broke my ipod when the white screen appearded !! =D

  • @nicole33455 just do a reset : hold home button then power button until it restarts easy...

  • My touch 4g screen is unresponsive.. This started happening after i wanted to clean the dust from under the screen.. at 1st only some of the screen stopped working.. now its completely done for..do i need a new digitizer? or am i going to have to replace the entire screen?

  • I fixed my iPod but it wouldn't turn on so I connected it to iTunes and now it's playing music and voice control. The screen is completely black how do I fix it?

  • dude this is a great video thanks

  • after i did every thing i went to unlock my ipod and the touch isnt working please help

  • How long will it take or my ipod to be back at my house i i send it in?

  • When I connected my LCD cable, I held the power button, it flashed white and now it wont turn on. What should I do? Please help!

  • I tried to do this and it seemed to work perfectly but now my new screen is all pink and white when turned on with stripes going all over it. What did I do wrong?

  • I realised that I must have ripped that important ribbon cable, the one you're supposed to be extra careful with when you take the metal plate off. Ahh well :(

  • @cerealandtoast We sell flex cable for the Touch 4th generation for $24.99. We can install the part on your device for a charge of $25.00 Please visit our website for more information

  • ok well DigiExpress i need a new ipod touch 2nd generation logic board cheapist one plz help meeeeeeeeeee

  • I sooooo fail at taking that screen off :P

  • I'm getting frustrated trying to get the digitizer ribbon snapped in. How can fully remove the mainboard.

  • @rembertervin247 You would need to first remove the screw at the top next to the camera, then remove the screw for the wi-fi ribbon cable. Finally you will need to detach the ribbon cable for the front facing camera. Once done, there is about 2 more inches of room that opens up so you can get eyes on the connection. but you must be very careful, as you will be bending the logic board and it very well may break if bent too much. Plus to reattach the camera cable is difficult

  • My LCD ribbon won't snap into place, I've been trying for five minutes straight?

  • @cerealandtoast make sure your metal shield (mid-plate) is not off center. There is a lip near the LCD port that could stop you from seating the cable, a little push with a spudger (plastic tool) should do it for you.

  • If the volume cable/ribbon on the top left hand side rips due to the adhesive does it affect the ipod itself or just no sound? Also is there a replacement/fix for that? Thanks!

  • @kazumatheshellbulet5 It means that your iPod's power and / or volume buttons will no longer function. We do have the cable itself for sale if you would like to replace it, otherwise we can do the work for you. More info is available on our website.

  • omg this was a horrible process to go through and then my screen did not fit right :(

  • Hi I have changed my iPod screen and digitiser and turned it on it went white then turned off now I cannot turn it on have you any ideas ?

  • Please mention the fact that there are diff screw lengths for all the screws taken out and which screw goes where. Thanks for the vid though.

  • Could I send you guys a email of a pic of my Ipod and see if it could be fixed?

  • Why can't I find a housing for my iPod Touch 4 that's not like the original>:/

  • After the shield is removed there is a black part with a red and blue cable. The black part is on my shield. My blue wire disconnected what should i do?

  • @MrSlamhappy That is your loudspeaker. The blue wire is neg and the red wire is pos. If you replace the loudspeaker, you should be fine. The adhesive Apple uses when manufacturing the devices seems to be getting "stronger". We sell the loudspeaker for $19.99 (currently) and can install it for you for $25.00, though generally you just need to remove the rest of the logic board and battery; then you can get access to the area that needs to be soldered.

  • @DigiExpress So if I leave if currently i would just have to use headphones?

  • How do you put the home button back?do u glue it or something cause when I did it like put it on the screen it just falls off

  • @SilenceTearz It seems like when you took off the home button from the old broken LCD, you removed the adhesive. You can put some glue on the robber edges and that should work with you

  • where the hell does it show me how to replace just the freaking glass! thats all I have. I looked all over youtube and its pissing me off!

  • @hanypants tell me what's your problem..

  • i need help...iam thinking of buying a $50 itouch and i was thinking of doing the $25 repair service...should i do it?

  • .@cheetashock If you don't have experience, you will end cutting the power ribbon cable, and sometimes break the LCD ribbon cables. There are some professional on eBay, they do all that job for $40 including the LCD, labor and shipping back. I tried to install the LCD myself and ended up breaking the power ribbon cable. After that I sent my iPod to those guys and they did a fantastic job and send the iPod back in the same day they received it. Try it: eBay item # 290641551415

  • I lost the screw at 6:05. Is it important?

  • @remelsheikh

If it holds down the shiny plate piece , dont worry too much. The problem is that I havent seen mention of the FACT that all the screws are NOT the same length. There are 6 diff screw lengths in the Ipod.

  • PLEASE HELP!!!!.... i put everything as said but it just wont turn on wen i test it, wat could i have done to it so it wouldnt turn on? :/ its not even my ipod i reallyyyy dont know wat to do

  • @070785 you cut the ribbon cable of the power switch,

you have to replace it by a professional

  • will the screen not stick it u dont put the double sided tape????? cus i dont have any and im practically done

  • thank you for your video!!!!i fixed my ipod!!

  • My iPod won't turn on what is the problem?

  • What is the copper cable that you pull off to connect the screen and back of iPod for? What does it do?

  • i have some screws that wont come of...anyone got any suggestions?

  • How would u fix a flickering screen? its not the screen of death but it flickers and the color is faded.

  • What is the copper sheet on the bottom of the metal shield shown at 5:47? It is connected to the motherboard and you seem to tear it free when you take the the shield off. All of the instructional videos ive seen dont discuss this item and everyone seems to tear it apart.

  • @WorldlySurvivor The copper is used to aid in cooling the iPod. The copper is used on either side of the battery. It is attached to the backplate underneath the battery, with a small "heat sink" (made of some poly material). On the top side of the battery, where you are working, it is used to simply help cool the battery. If you cut it, as shown in the video, you still retain the copper. You'll probably want to keep the copper and reuse it. Hope this helps, thanks for viewing

  • repaired two ipods with this fantastic video, howver an important omission is the fact that u need to start by pressing in the upper part of the screen and then clip in the bottom, did the inverse and it broke the screen in 2 in the very final step of the replacement... Anyways good luck to all u watching this!

  • Too much someone do it for me!

  • do you need to use the heat gun or can you just continue the procedure without the heat gun please reply

  • @donut1234ful use a hairdryer for about 5 mins

  • @donut1234ful blow drier

  • Do all 4th gen iPod have the LCD screen attach to the touch screen. Now? And can we use a hair dryer instead of a heat thingy?

  • 60 people tried this and broke their ipod XD

  • ....Drunken tattoo? (flower...manly)

  • What if your home button is broken? Do they sell just home button pieces?

  • @Cooltay200 yea its on their website 7$

  • Gah i'm never going to get my ipod fixed -_-

  • Nice Rose tattoo...? Lol

  • can u fix a broken ribbon cable ?

the one mentioned at 5:04 to be exact

  • My Crack on my ipod looked like that as well , pain in the ass

  • when you replace the screen do you have to replace the LCD screen ?

  • Nice Tat

  • your voice is really fucken annoying

  • OR YOU COULD GET WARRANTY ON THE THING. =.=

  • Be careful if you are trying to replace digitizer only (touch screen) this video doesn't show you how to do it and you will probably break the lcd screen while removing the digitizer. I broke mine cause I didn't know that lcd and digitizer are stick together, its a pain in the butt to remove lcd screen from digitizer. I think the best thing to do if you want to replace either the lcd or digitizer would be: buy the whole thing (lcd and digitizer together) that would save you a lot of trouble

  • what kind of 2 sided tape did you use??

  • @hurtado123451 he used 3M but it probably comes with it

  • hey i was wonder is it possible to fix the ipod lighting...

  • @Hm0oBVaNg go to settings, brightness, then adjust the brightness.

  • STOP AT 15.02 WHY DO U HAVE A ROSE TATTOO ON YOUR LEFT(MY RIGHT) ARM??? LOL

  • so if you replace the screen you need to replace both the LCD screen AND the digitizer?

  • can you teach best buy

  • OMG THANK YOU I GOT IT TY TY TY

  • OR -------->> Put masking tape all of the iPod instead of the color thing, and the circled-square in the home button, and then spray paint it. There you have a new iPod touch color. Fancy, huh? Also make sure that the paint is the same time as the regular iPod touches, or your iPods will feel weird. :)

  • i wanna do this because my friends dog bit the whole screen yet i feel id break it..

  • Excuse me.. in 11:14 you are stick on something on the ipod, can you tell me wt is it?? thx a lot!!!!

  • by $25 repair service, will you fix my screen for me?

  • I am in need of a new iPod Touch 4G logic board shield plate aka the metal plate secured down by 8 screws that covers the battery. I didn't see it listed on your website. Could you please tell me where I can get one?

  • I think you forget to put the front top hook which was attached to the old screen. This hook might hold the iPod screen tight to the main frame.

  • i might as well buy a new ipod.

  • Where do I get that specific tool... The silver one he uses in the beginning to remove the broken screen? I order some tools off of amazon. But it was some blue tool and it's not sharp or flat enough for me to remove my screen. The blue tool they sent me isn't working???? Help!!!!!

  • I am trying to "pimp" my iPod 4G. So, I have a White iPod Touch 4G Front plate will it be compatible with my black iPod 4G So i can change the home button?

  • that was 15 minutes of my life i will never get back

  • Is it possible to use the screen of an old ipod to fix the cracked screen on another iPod of the same generation?

  • Comment removed

  • did anybody notice that his tattoo was greenish and then it went sort of brown? thumbs if u saw

  • very excellent disassembly, and even includes the reassemble to keep your parts on track without writing a steps sheet every time. one note I would add would be, when separating the back plate (the one with 8 screws) form the motherboard, use a quick blast from a heat gun to help it separate from board without ripping cables as some have mentioned here, and the biggest thing to do for successful rebuilds is to TAKE YOUR TIME!!!!! best of luck to you all!

  • i want to change the broken screen of my black ipod for a new white screen but in your page ive seen that the white screen have a little circle in the top right corner what is that?

  • @edming27 That image is a stock image, we will update that image as soon as possible. Thank you for pointing that out. The screens we sell in the white color will look just like your original screen. There will be no black dot in the upper corner.

  • can i use super glue insted of that tape? any ideas?

  • Hey my ipod has these thin boxes around everything that you touch once, you tap it twice to actually touch the button, i dont know whether this is a setting that is doing this, or a bug or something, i reset the ipod by holding the home button and the lock buttton, but the boxes still appeared around everything when you tuch it..... basically nothing changed; can anybody help or know anything about this setting, or what i can do to mabe reset it so the boxes go away?

  • why dont u say everything stuck glued together or u need ppl to fuck up thier shit fuck u and ur demo fuking rip off

  • i liked the part when he stabbed his finger

Does anyone know if this is reliable? I feel like if I ship it in, I won't get it back...

  • the stupid music ugh

  • just like someoneelse said, i made the same mistake. near the homebutton, the blakc part was stuck and it ripped my blue cable. what does the blue cable do?

  • why was the scren broken at first and not broken at the ending?

  • @cesarp209 Not sure if trolling or just stupid...

  • has anyone mailed anything to these people???

  • @VevoThis

yes. they are very helpful and good.

  • be careful, ipod may explode, shoot you in the face, die, kill you, try to stab you in your sleep, slap you in the face.

also, most of the items needed to do this replacement are illegal in the us and can only be found in cuba.

indeed it may be assumed that it would just be easier taking your broken device to best buy.

    thank you.

  • i have a question why do i use my ipod touch like 2 minutes and my ipod touch begins heat?

  • great tuturials

  • Where do u get the tools to take apart and repair????

  • where does the blue wire for the speaker go attached to?

  • yes i did i fixed it thank u so much

  • I finally got my parts from China. I had already taken the screen off...so i followed the video from that point. I FOLLOWED this video exactly how it shows! EXACTLY. i went slowly and took extra care. I'm glad i did b/c there are lost of little things i could have screwed up. Anyways, I did it all and put it all back together, and it works....PERFECTLY. Thanks to the posters of this video.

  • Thumbs up if you tryed this with yours and it came out horrible but still worked

  • EVERYONE! When you remove the screen be careful with the black box at the top right corner of the ipod (where a red and a blue cable is attached). It usually sticks to the screen and you might snap one of the cables.

Like this post so noone has to make the same mistake as me -.-'

  • @Lollipop3061 will it not work anymore if the blue cable snapped?

  • @macdaddy888beast The blue caple is only responsible for the speaker, so the speaker wont work, but everything else should be fine :)

  • The background music is driving me nuts! :/ Thanks for the instructions! They are great!

  • it hurts to watch this

  • Guys I did the same as you did but,... There is a squaer looking ribbon on the back of the metal plate and the guy on the video break it when pulling the metal plate, my problem now is that when I touch the glass it miss colors but they come back,.. Do u have any idea what it could be??? Please let me know
