Honestly, quite disappointed that she wasn't killed, but if you think about it, the attack permanently damaged her vocal chords to a point where it is a real chore to speak.

This takes away the hold she has over the ward, and the fear the patients once felt.

Considering her sadistic nature, this is just payback, and quite satisfying for the reader/viewer who hates Ratched as much as I do.

Great book, and great film.

It's funny, because although McMurphy is essentially killed (in a way) by Ratchet, he still won. She may have "killed" him, but he silenced her and stopped her from being...well...a total fucking bitch.
