  • he reminds me of bo burnham

  • This didnt help it scared me lol

  • oh hey, I know him! I went to WWSHS

  • it is not that good cuz the speech is too long....it is not remarkable to everybody...

  • Not bad at all. :---)

  • he has an annoying voice

  • he is bloody good !

  • great speesc

  • This is a great speech..

  • does not sound conversational... sounds memorized. But he is good.

  • Sounds like a pre-fitted speech...gets pretty off topic

  • He is using notecards because this is just a speech the champions give for the audience of IHSA state. He obviously didn't use notecards for the actual speech in the competition or else he wouldn't have won. His mind was cluttered after just being told that he won something so remarkable, so it is totally understandable. Great speech.

  • ok so this guy is really really good.Today i decided im going to do impromtu for my bloomington high school speech team. and this guy is simply an inspiration

  • great speech!

  • wow... i sure wish i could incorporate humor into my impromptu speeches like this guy... bravo man... bravo.

  • He looks like that guy from Glee!! Oh, but good Impromptu. :D

  • @Deathnotelover95 That's what I thought! In fact, the guy from Glee was actually a speech champion himself.

  • good example for a 'perfected' impromptu speech

  • There's no such thing as "canned examples. There is no rule limiting the number of times you use an example. If it fits with the prompt, it can be used. There's no way to can a speech unless the prompt was seen early.

  • well said mark. good examples and funny at times! nice----

  • The only reason he used note cards was due to the fact that he was reciting the speech after he won state, there's no way he'd remember it after the whole process.

  • he's good!

  • He is good...maybe too good. This is in impromptu format, but his speech seems incredibly rehearsed. I'm not sure how things go everywhere else, but in Nevada we have two minutes to prepare and we don't get any notes. I wonder how he would do if he competed here. It is still an amazing speech though :)

  • IN Illinois For impromtu

we also have 2 minutes to prepare and we dont get any notes

And i know it seems incredibly rehearsed but in illinois are impromtu people are all like that there really good

  • But don't forget he already gave this Speech but it is still really good I am just letting you know this is after he got a medal which means he gave this speech already... I was at the tournament...

  • There's a reason why it seems so rehearsed! LOL! It's because this is following the awards assembly which means THEY HAVE GIVEN THIS SPEECH BEFORE. But still its REALLY GOOD! LOL

  • his good so good but i do think dat its not an impromtu speech

  • No, it's an Impromptu. He has an intro, conclusion, all the right references.

  • wtf notecards!?!? in California we don't get that. I should know

  • Surprisingly enough, normally the excellent impromptu speaking neither need nor use their note cards. It surprised me that he did. He's an excellent impromptu speaker, though. And his speech definitely wasn't canned; how could he fit a canned speech with that so perfectly. His examples were probably canned, though.

  • A great speech! I want to know how long he has practiced impromptu speech.

  • eh.

  • This guy is a superb impromptu speaker.

  • wow he is awesome!

  • huh.
