They aren't going to finish it. They released "stargate resistance" in hopes that others will forget about the original game. All that game contains is some of the stuff that they finished before everyone left (including my father).

i saw the combat in this game on another video it's like an epic raid for every guy it's not stand and click. It's shoot, hide, cover, whach your flank, missles, LAZORS (there were any lazors but maybe in an other battler) i think wow will have some compition with this one

Another problem with MMO's.. you have to keep paying if you want to keep playing them! Normal games require you to pay for a game and thats it.. you get free updates for it. With an MMO you pay a monthly fee.. they cost considerably more than a normal game.
Wow wasn't terrible in the beginning but I agree, now it is just terrible. Makes me nostalgic thinking about it, and also you can't forget about games like Oblivion and Call of Duty, you still have to pay for updates nightmare. And, those are just to name a few
What is wrong with MMO's? Well they require you to have an internet connection. I live in the country (My nearest neighbour is 5 miles away) and I don't even have a landline in my house let alone a broadband internet connection. I can only get online in the town about 15 miles away. So I can't play MMO's *shrugs*
if you have verizon, they give you an app with your phone that allows you to use your phone as a modem.. so you can at least get 3G connection to the web... prob not so great for games but at least its something lol

I think they should go the way of a lot of games, Pay for additional features. Shoot with as many fans as Stargate has already who wouldn't want to have ads on that site, that would pay for all of the maintanence and then some.
The MMO needs a monthly fee to recoup some of the money...also the dedicated servers that people play on need to be purchased and maintained. No servers, no game worlds.
Also this is the kind of graphics the game will have, Cheyenne Studio have said they are going for the style of graphic and don't want the graphics to be very realistic. Personally for a Sci-fi I like realistic gfx but we'll have to see how it works out. You can find game play videos around already, judge for yourself.
yeah, about the free mmorpg. Tell me 1 game, that is free, and has all the weapon, armor, spells and stuff, that you dont have to buy in form of an expansion or some shit like that. For example Anarchy online is free..but gets pretty boring after a while, cause you can't go in Shadowlands, no alien raid, no special armor, weapon, no mechas, no nothing.
I'll tell you what, why don't you spend millions on a game and endless months/years developing it & paying staff and then tell me that you have no problem with letting people play it for free.

I am a big fan of the show more SG1 than Atlantis but both are good. This is the only game I will be willing to pay a monthly fee for. I am excitied to see what kind of story unfolds and if they have any of the people from the show in the game. And I just wanted to say I love how when they had SG1 and Atlantis running at the same time they would sometimes have one of the SG1 guys guest on the Atlantis show. I just thought it was cool that they intertwined the two shows.

Also, the updates in MMORPG's are much more common, unlike the very occasional ones you will get for free with normal games.

I think they should go the way of a lot of games, Pay for additional features. Shoot with as many fans as Stargate has already who wouldn't want to have ads on that site, that would pay for all of the maintanence and then some.

The MMO needs a monthly fee to recoup some of the money...also the dedicated servers that people play on need to be purchased and maintained. No servers, no game worlds.
Also this is the kind of graphics the game will have, Cheyenne Studio have said they are going for the style of graphic and don't want the graphics to be very realistic. Personally for a Sci-fi I like realistic gfx but we'll have to see how it works out. You can find game play videos around already, judge for yourself.

yeah, about the free mmorpg. Tell me 1 game, that is free, and has all the weapon, armor, spells and stuff, that you dont have to buy in form of an expansion or some shit like that. For example Anarchy online is free..but gets pretty boring after a while, cause you can't go in Shadowlands, no alien raid, no special armor, weapon, no mechas, no nothing.

I completely agree with you. By using the word "Worlds" they're totally copying WoW. It has nothing to do with the fact that in the game you... oh, say, travel to other WORLDS?! Geez, WoW didn't copyright the word "World"

everything i heard about the game sounded great and then i hear 'monthly fee' and i thought of all those other lame games like 'wow' and shit. i bet if they tied the plots to the series then ppl would go crazy 4 this game (cause who doesnt like the series). i really hope they dont let us stargate fans down. our hopes r too high

I am a big fan of the show more SG1 than Atlantis but both are good. This is the only game I will be willing to pay a monthly fee for. I am excitied to see what kind of story unfolds and if they have any of the people from the show in the game. And I just wanted to say I love how when they had SG1 and Atlantis running at the same time they would sometimes have one of the SG1 guys guest on the Atlantis show. I just thought it was cool that they intertwined the two shows.

No you cant get the game yet its still in Alpha. But when it does come out it will be pay to play so you will probably be able to pay using the same method as you pay for WoW
