Weed shouldn't be illegal in the first place, but I understand why they're keeping it that way. Legalizing weed would spell disaster for pharmaceutical companies and other drug companies which would... effect the economy. They could tax marijuana to dampen the effect. I think once our economy is a little less f--ked up we'll see more progress in the legalization of cannabis. Companies like Monsanto or ADM will fund the research for mapping of genomes, patent them and then sue other marijuana farmers for damages... Weed shouldn't be illegal in the first place, but I understand why they're keeping it that way. Legalizing weed would spell disaster for pharmaceutical companies and other drug companies which would... effect the economy. They could tax marijuana to dampen the effect. I think once our economy is a little less f--ked up we'll see more progress in the legalization of cannabis. I think the real problem here is how bought out our government that it can't pass legislations w/out the corporate OK..

I still say no. After smoking the stuff for 4 years, I realized how powerful of a drug it really is. It takes away your potential as a human being! People say "It's natural...how can it be bad?" or "God put it here so it can't be bad!". I'd say being sober is much more "natural". Also, the lowering of inhibitions does not cause the lowering of aspirations, in fact due to that effect one's aspirations may be even clearer to the person under the influence. There are many pot smokers out there who have executive positions, political positions, and are educated.

"Pot is safer than alcohol", blah blah blah. As I have said for YEARS, that doesn't make it right! We shouldn't smoke pot OR drink alcohol! How hard is that?? No one is saying everyone should smoke. If its not right for you, its not right for you, same with alcohol. But the fact of the matter is legalizing it isn't condoning it. We have tobacco legal, we don't say to everyone they should smoke it.
Also Holland has regulated cannabis, they have 6.1% smoking rate, US is 13.%%.

1. Legalizing actually makes pot smoking go down (Netherlands 6.1% vs US 13.5%)
2. Legalizing doesn't = condonement (we don't condone the use of tobacco)
3. Using a mind altering drug doesn't make you a bad person. Are you going to tell me you never jolt your system with a dose of caffeine?
4. Legalizing cannabis will take 80% of the USD$321.4 billion market out of the hands of armed thugs and gangs.
5. Kids cannot buy (ID please)

People think about this, there is an average 310 million people in the US, about 190 million are minors, if their are 100+ million pro for hemp, then that leaves about 10-20 million aginst it, and most of them are crackheads that dont think weed is strong enough... And plus, the only reason that the iluminati(who rule have power over everyone) made this stuff illegal is cause in the early 1900s the hemp companies were beating everyone out of their money, plus they made up corny things about it

Cannabis is no where compared to alcohol, but thats still legal, kids still drink under age and do stupid things, because society made it seem that its ok. Even studies proved that its poisoning you, that it can kill you, that it can ruin your life and others if you decide to go driving...we should be arguing to illegalize alcohol which kills people by the masses every year. If you have kids and dont want them to smoke than be a freakin parent! Cannabis could help us!

Companies like Monsanto or ADM will fund the research for mapping of genomes, patent them and then sue other marijuana farmers for damages... Then there is the genetic splicing and the deleterious effects on other crops and honey bees, as with the sudden hive collapse disorder... Couple that with "regulations" that will essentially give the pharmaceutical companies a virtual monopoly on medical marijuana and taa-daa, they just fucked everyone up the ass...
