The first ever "Out of the Arena" flip! Superb battle, even though it was very short. Firestorm was a fine machine, even though it's flipper was weak in this series (but nonetheless effective, since it had beaten the (then) reigning champions Panic Attack), it was under the contol of an excellent driver. Same can be said fo Chaos 2, of course, which had a much more powerful flipper, which proved to be the better machine here! Wonder how Chaos 2 would fair up against the latest Firestorm?

@Rickstew86 To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if Firestorm beat Chaos 2 if they had fought again in their most updated incarnations. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if what happened here happened but in reverse. Firestorm was always up there with the best, Chaos 2 sorta withered and died a horrid death.

But, in all seriousness, Chaos 2 is a legend, and always will be.

@KillDozer123 That's the thing. Firestorm had some major improvements fitted all round, especially since the increase in weight from 80kg to 100kg, whereas Chaos 2 only had improvements on it's weapon. By Series 6, Chaos 2 was showing it's age, whereas Firestorm was still a Grand Finalist.

By no means is Chaos 2 a bad machine, even by Series 6 standards, but it was a tired machine, and newer, fresher machines were improving so much, that Chaos 2 just didn't cut it anymore.

chaos 2 was te rason why robot wars went dull, robot wars was invaded by flipping robots and so bouts eneded up lasting less than a minuite because of robots like chaos 2 flipping the opponent out of the ring.

Thankfully, most official competitions have arenas surrounded by Lexan walls, making a ring-out impossible.

Sure, let's set up the arena so that a ring-out makes the robot's electronics fry- from the receiver to the speed controllers to whatever else is hooked up to the battery, thus costing the builders several hundred dollars in repair costs and removing them from any future fights in the competition. That's far more retarded than a few Lexan walls.

As for the wedge/flip type robots, they fare just fine in the enclosed arenas. I built one, and it's won plenty of fights.
