  • he looks so fake talkin like that!! I dont like his attitude!!great drummer though..!

  • keep om doin what your doin dude!

  • Not all effort.

  • He would never talk like that if dennis chambers was around..

  • Tony Royster isn't Jay-Z'z drummer, Jay'Z is Tony's singer.

  • @GreenDouche exactly I feel hes been gigs that are below his gift of playing...Tony was touring before we even heard of Jay-z

  • @GreenDouche omg

  • Beast-Like Chops to get some props and Simple fills to pay the bills :)

  • Drums sound nice...

  • what kind beat is that, that he is playing . can anyone show me a lesson video of beat so that i can learn it ?

  • Easy beats pay the bills

  • G-tar

  • he looks so bored

  • i liked the younger vesion of tony, when he would sound much more educsted

  • @LucianBrujah yeah, but people change man. Things happen. Somebody probably told him he was talking too "white", and he changed his way of speaking so he could fit in. I had to deal with that too as a kid. You speak proper english and all of a sudden you're not black anymore. Its ridiculous.

  • @jed52 ik

  • Bad news, Smitty T55: He's BOTH people, and gets to switch back and forth whenever he pleases, and the fact that he does it so well is an ASSET, and a necessary skill as a Black man.

  • he says guitar funny

  • wow. what do you mean boring? to the ones who said he's a sellout loser, boring player and Jay Z's music being shit noise, you need to compare their bank account to yours before you speak. Let me guess, if you were give the opportunity to tour with Jay-Z and dig deep into the hip hop grooves like Tony then you WOULDN'T call YOURSELF a sellout loser, boring player and Jay-Z's music shit noise would you? You wouldn't criticize the 'ghetto' slang coming out of your mouth would you? Jealous much?

  • I still thinks he's amazing....I just hate it when most anyone in the pop music world has or wants sucess...then that have to bring their "inner ghetto" to the table..."yo yo ....here's ya boy Tony Royster"......inner ghetto with a side of Jersey...niiiiiiiice

  • This is JAY Z'S Drummer. Tony is his own man and was doing his thing way before Jay z.

  • what a fucking sellout loser. I'd rather watch him when he was 8 years old.

  • @crenshawjeffrey haha why dont yu tell him that while hes driving to the bank

  • @Drummerxx777 Doesn't matter how much money you make if you sacrifice your artistic integrity. Seriously, how can he enjoy what he's doing in this video? What a fucking knob.

  • @crenshawjeffrey haha he doesnt just do this? check out his band ASAP........then maybe yu wouldnt sound stupid hating on something yu kno nothing about

  • @Drummerxx777 You're funny, jerkoff. I first heard ASAP over a year ago. I've learned all about his career since he was little, drumming with Dennis Chambers. Tony's a stellar drummer, but he's embarrassing himself and wasting his talent playing with Jay-Z. There is no way he enjoys playing what he plays live these days.

  • @crenshawjeffrey haha a person that truly loves drums will love playing them no matter what......not just when people are giving all their attention to their chops.....you are apparently the jerkoff

  • @crenshawjeffrey not everyone wants to hear technical fast drumming, some people want to hear music, I dont like jay z at all, but these are drum beats and he can still put lots of feeling into them even if they are not insane, try to open your mind and stop hating, I know its hard to do but if you work at it you can do anything

  • @modtwenty The point is, Jay-Z's music is shitnoise and anyone with half a brain doesn't care to listen to it

  • @crenshawjeffrey all I can say is, yes lol

  • @crenshawjeffrey You are clearly uneducated.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX says the guy who covers Avenged Sevenfold. You plebeian fuck

  • @crenshawjeffrey Okay, so you hate metal, and you hate rap. What the hell do you like?

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX Talk about ignorance. Look me up on Last FM. /user/Ravedeath

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX Can't match my taste bro, too pleb. "A7X" is probably one of the worst bands ever. Want metal, get into first-wave metalcore, tech death, black metal and some good post-hardcore. Punk's good too. Converge, Cave In, Burzum, At The Drive-In, Fugazi, Arsis, TBDM, et fucking cetera. Want rap, get into stuff like Madvillain, J Dilla, Death Grips, and CloudDEAD. the world is much bigger than your shit taste, so educate yourself, chillunz.

  • @crenshawjeffrey I'm looking at some of the bands you like, and laughing in the process. Whatever, you can't actually call other bands shitty, it doesn't make sense. Good day.

  • @XxStrongDrums1996xX BTW the fact that I enjoy a band that you don't doesn't make me uneducated. Saying that, again, makes you yourself uneducated.

  • Dude i don't care if i look like you as long as i play like you

  • This guy is great (one of the best) but why did he sell out to the hip hop? He was a nice kid and now he talks like an uneducated ghetto gangster punk. Jay Z holds no interest for me.

  • Got any other beats? Figures

  • @flymarvin search him not playin for crappy artist... hes soooo damn good

  • What kind of cymbals are those? They sound amazing!

  • The GITar parts. No no the GITar parts.

  • He is good, but boring.

  • @RoccoSoundTube hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha, tony royster jr. boring?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • @RoccoSoundTube boring when he plays tracks for jay z, jeah

  • un concert de Jay Z = un entrainement des rythmes de base pour débutant de Tony xD

  • the same beat over and over and so full of himself....was this a music vid or a commercial...annoying...and to think that i got linked to this vid from a Job for a Cowboy drummer vid (no talking, just skills) never again will I get sucked in to the annoying contemporary hip hop world (bring the skills back, not the name throwing)

  • @cottingerjr it actually rehersal and practice for jay z song

  • @cottingerjr have you seen this guy drum? like him actually drum?

  • @cottingerjr /watch?v=ehmTBsmZhmY watch that, it'll change your mind on this bloke

  • so he's being a HAM..he 's young, and loves the attention...his talent has certainly open doors for him...now as for that drum sound....yeeesh...DW make fine drums ..but the obvious factory heads he's using don't do the drums justice..but then again, it is hip hop..

  • i just want a quarter of his talent.

  • he makes it look effortless. i really would like to get as good as him someday. all i need to do is practice a little bit more and get a job to buy a new drumset because i have a fucked up one.

  • That's Paramount on Santa Monica, isn't it? Studio C right?

  • I like well educated Tony better than Ghetto Tony......I wish he would make up his mind who he wants to talk like......everything is "yo" and "this is your boy".....gimme a break..he's from Germany and Georgia not Compton...lol

  • @beckettmusic When has speech ever been indicative of IQ? Mastery of a language is always relative... as long as the proper meaning is derived then it truly doesn't matter how it was expressed. That's why I genuinely enjoy slang, obscure words, and diverse phrasing. I don't back down from obfuscatory and abstruse nomenclature lol

  • @beckettmusic man, enjoy the music. I say yo and wuz up and my i.q is probably higher than yours. Every time a black person invents something, he always has to act or speak a certain way to be accepted, and if he doesn't white people steal it and put their spin on it. Don't believe me: Rock, pop, dance, doctrine, chemistry, scientology. BTW, I'm not racist... facts are facts

  • @KEYZdashSHAWN ...Hey keyz....not very nice to my opinion....We ARE still allowed to have one right?..I CAN have an opinion on something and it not be a race thing..(or IQ thing) right??..point being, he didn't invite anything in his speech. It is simply done to act "cool/hip" and you know it. I believe when he was on the grammys as a child showed he was accepted by society....or maybe when he got the job with JAY Z he was accepted...not because of that ghetto bullshit...Georgia remember

  • @KEYZdashSHAWN ...and second...hmmm white's steal from blacks?...hmmm ok...maybe..on somethings...Rock?..no..Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock" was the first, Pop(that is a Billboard Mag term)..Dance Music was Delia Derbyshire (white lady)...Chemistry?Muslims Scientology?L. Ron Hubbard (white guy)....so there ya have it....

Oh..and don't talk to me about IQ..meaning music IQ...I have forgotten more than you will ever know

  • @beckettmusic don't start that shit here. you're both fuckboy tools.

  • @LforDolo ....LforDolo....Mind your own freakn business...I didn't say anything to KEYZ in my response that was untrue or disrespectful ....I simply pointed out facts against his "facts"..How bout checkin yourself before you run that mouth and see who started the little disagreement that has nothing to do with you....LforDolo?...how bout AforASSHOLE or DforDickHead...I think that fits you a little better

  • @beckettmusic thats a big word man..nice to said that and spread it..clever one really!!!

  • @beckettmusic he can talk how he wants, everyone knows how incredible he is, he doesn't need to earn our respect by any other means. let the man do his thing.

  • @EdEmKay ...I agree... People should respect one another for their talents, which I do. He probably is the best drummer on the planet. But, as I have said from the beginning, I am not slamming his race or playing. I am however slamming the bullshit "yo yo" "ya boy" hand jestering, "I'm a producer" horse shit that is so fake I wanna puke. Again..HE IS A GENIUS!!!. but I wish he would just play and be amazing

  • @beckettmusic to be fair, he's grown up now and has moved on from "child drummer genius", i think this progression into playing the styles he wants has influenced him in a cultural way, im open for all cultures, as long as they play well too

  • @beckettmusic kinda like how Nick Cannon went from Nickelodeon to Wild n Out. everyone was like wtf

  • @beckettmusic this Mofo can talk however the fuck he wants.. he earned that right. shittt.

  • Hey, if you like drumming check out my page, i have several videos and many more to come, feel free to have a look! Melanie xxx

  • i dedicate my watching of this video and being inspired to the late great tony williams!

  • wtf is goo-tar?

  • Drum Doctors, thats who I use when I am tracking in LA. Ross is a trip.

  • lmfao i love how he says guitar !

  • He's playing blame it on the alcohol by Jamie Foxx at the beginning!!! around 0:56

  • He's playing blame it on the alcohol by Jamie Foxx at the beginning!!! around 1:04..

  • he seems so bored playing those easy ass beats hahaha

  • @suliry can't believe what you people are thinking! Playing is not an equation like difficulty=entertainment what tha fuck are you smoking in that pipe idiot

  • the guy is good thats all thats matter right ?

  • Boy i wish we had YouTube when we were Younger. I could've went pro.

  • Yeah, it's kind of screwed up. Seems there are no gigs for ace drummers these days. I totally agree with the other posters: Tony Royster Jr. is doing this badass, keepin' it real, street cred thing, trying to fit in. Perhaps this is his way of defending himself, getting along with his team. Who knows, perhaps he has been called "smartass college boy" a few times too many, so he is faking it. Tony still remains one of my favorite drummers ever: killer chops and very, very soulful and musical.

  • it should be "jay-z, tony royster junior's rapper". not "tony royster junior, jay-z's drummer"

  • @can0mace thats exactly wat it says in tha top comment......

  • Dope!!!!

  • drum doctors! thats wear i got my snare at, i saw tony's kit and much more

  • it should be called Jay Z tony Roysters singer not the other way about Jay Z has good lyrics and probably 1 of the best rappers ever but it takes years of practice and dedication to master the drums like Tony. In fairness i wud say to a certain extent hes naturally unbelievable but to im sure at least 50 percent is down to practice

  • I put my nutts on that drumset right before the engineer armed tony's track to record....seriously

  • What is the song you are recording Tony Royster?

  • Blame it on the ah..ah...ahh..ah.a..h.ah. a.hh...alcohol !

  • I don't get it, what's happened to the english language in the US? "Hi, it's your boy"? wtf "In the building", yeh, we can see that. Sounds so fake and concocted to me, every young guy wants to be gangsta. Why can't he just say, "Hi, I'm Tony Royster Jnr" Sheesh. Amazing drummer though, amazing, know what I'm sayin.

  • @naedsukram yeah homeslice, it's bradycorcoran here on the youtube.. but yeah, i know exactly what you're saying.

  • @bradycorcoran hehe homeslice... not being disrespectful, the guy is unbelievable, but why do they all talk the same way in this incoherent dribble, it's like, the less educated you can sound, the better, I dunno, street cred or whatever you call it? From what we know about him, he's not from the streets, he's been mentored by one of the greatest drummers alive and his talented appears to have been fully nurtured and supported by his parents. Stop talking in the third person, you're not three.

  • @naedsukram i think it's retarted when people talk like he does also, he talked like an educated kid when he was 12, why not now? did he lose some of his education as he aged? lol.. doesn't make sense to me.

  • @naedsukram

He's a 24 year old kid who's been on tour with the world's biggest rapper for 3 months. Him talking in "incoherent dribble" is probably to be expected. For the record I'm as white as they come and I understood every word he was saying. Was it perfectly enunciated and whatnot? No, but what the hell does it really matter? You think the kid that's been working hard at his craft for 2 decades is somehow a bad example because he speaks in the 3rd person to do some self-promotion?

  • @drumhead23us I don't think it's 'to be expected' at all cause he toured with a rapper, I think it's a conscious decision to talk that way and he's young, it doesn't just happen, not all black people talk this way, but some start adding this 'third person' element into their conversations that I find just plain bizarre, not saying it's bad, but his delivery does lend itself to a gangsta mentality, which is not great for the kids that look up to him, don't u think. Hugs not drugs man : )

  • too much talking

  • that drummer has class. he sounds fresh

  • This vid doesn't even show half of his abilities... It's all simple cuz he's playing to a track... Check out his other vids

  • he must be sooo bored

  • @SmithT55 compering to the shit he play on a daily base yes. A LOT!!!

  • @SmithT55 I can tell he plays drums every single day LOL HE MUST BE OD TIRED He still making money...but all these performances for him is like the same thing everyday.

  • @SmithT55 sorry but your completley wrong.. anyone with his passion and skill couldn't be bored at all...

  • My nephew is twelve and can outplay this loser twenty to one....this guy SUCKS!

  • @Wolftrap44 nonsense.

  • @raaayxsdx3 he just trolling.

  • @Wolftrap44 look up his performance with ASAP.

  • @Wolftrap44 you shouLd see his concert sucker. . you don't know nothing.. .

  • @Wolftrap44 ask your nephew to respond on this video. If Tony is really SUCKS. Like you know shit.

  • TRJ is a freak, so why did they show the videos of him playing the simple shit??

  • What is the song

  • I think that he was playing Blame it on the alcahol!

  • dis your boy?

  • Is it boring playing the drums now?

  • git tar

  • jz dnt deserve this drumme

  • this niga be throwin it down like mustard gas
