i think the 2007 nissan max is one of the best cars on the road. my 2007 has performed great. i didnt like the cheap ass batterys that come with the car. i like the style and beauty of the car. they are fast as hell and there is no comparison.

the 2007 max is a great car all around. its fast, its stylish, and has a great crash rating. i wouldnt buy anything else. the only thing i didnt like is the cheap ass batterys nissian puts in the cars.

The HP numbers went down because of the new testing method... It had nothing to do with the cvt transmission. This 255 HP maxima has the same power as the 265 HP 04-06' Maxima. Why would they think that it had to do with the cvt? LOL

@IrishChris1979 bc it gets less hp to the wheels bc of the cvt, a regular trans has gears, while the cvt does not...so it takes a little more power to get the cvt trans going...therefore losing power to the wheels. thats it in a nutshell.

MyRide should know that the '07 Maxima is "down" 10hp from the previous year because of new SAE ratings, not because of the addition of the CVT transmission.

@Hatinonthehaters YES! Mine has been in the shop for 2 weeks for a new transmission.. It started at about 95,000 miles and took it a year to get bad enough where i just couldnt put up with it anymore so i HAD to get it fixed.. It was 125,000 miles on it now.. But other than that, I LOVE MY MAXIMA!!!!!

My parents have a 2007 Nissan Maxima 3.5SL and they love it. The only problem with the car is the very loose steering. You move the wheel ever so slightly and you could end up in another lane or even rear-ending someone! I hope they fixed that in the 2010 version otherwise many people would cause road rage because of that reason.

@colbrot so few problems with it? how bout the fact that i dread merging with traffic on the highway because i have to listen to 10 seconds of constant brutal cvt acceleration? how about that i also owned an altima from 2006 with a conventional automatic, and that car gave me better fuel economy and was quicker?

i could care less if there are reliability issues, when it comes to performance the cvt sucks.

that being said its my first full size car but we love it i own a infinity g-20 and a bad ass frontier\rock crawler and will always be a die hard Nissan fan!!!

Maximas are one of the best cars around PERIOD! And Nissan is one hell of a car maker! And I agree with everyone else...Nissan does NOT put ANY cheap parts ANYWHERE in the Maxima...is all high quality! NO American made company can touch the Maxima...well....American made cars suck anyways :)

Nissan doesnt use cheap plastic interior, and they have a badass suspention, and theres nothing wrong with the handling. Nissan is just an awesome car. So shut the fuck up and and stop whining because Nissan makes reliable safe good looking cars while ur stuck driving your 1995 Honda Accord
