hello! do you have Hashimotos? i do and i am doing the GF diet, it has helped me a looot! What i hate is that Doctors, etc. are not giving the right importance to this kind of diseases.
Take care! and thank you for sharing your story! :)
hey there just been watching you vids. I got an underactive thyroid i was diagnosed in dec of 2010 but doctor is keeping me in the dark about test results and stuff. i am currently on 125mcgs of levo and still my levels are still getting worst last lest my tsh level was 69 when will i get better ????
Has any of your doctors suggested that you take natural dessicated thyroid medicine; ie. Armour -- which contains all the "T's T0, T1, T2, T3 and T4. Since Levo only contains T4 and depends upon your body to convert it to T3, most people on Armour Thyroid feel better since it contains T3. I have been finding that most people I have met who are hypo do not convert T4 to T3 properly. Has any doctor thought of this? Also, do you follow Mary Shomon's site? She is considered the best in the US.
Hi I am 22 years old and male and I was just diagnosed with Hashimotos thyroiditis. I went through the classic symtoms for almost a year telling the doctors over and over that I believed it was the thyroid with no luck until recently. I am now on 50 mcg levothyroxine and am starting a gluten free diet. If you have not heard of this I think it would be beneficial to look into. Apparently a lot of ppl with hypothyroid are gluten intolerant. Ive heard the diet helps to lose weight and symptoms!
We have a lot in common. My heart goes out to you and I am so thankful that you're starting to feel better now. You may want to look into a book by Julia Ross, called The Diet Cure. She's a big advocate for amino acid therapy and it has truly changed my life. It works beautifully for people with hypothyroidism and what's even better is that the therapy isn't for the rest of your life...it's temporary with lasting effects. She's very well-written and gets to the point quickly.
Raising a child while dealing with hypothyroidism... To the woman who do it I take my hat off to them. I can barely dress myself in the morning let alone chase after a child. The thought is terrifying! Isn't hypothyroidism hereditary? Such a hard decision to make as a woman.
Awsome to see a video from you. I was thinking about the silence from your end. It seems like things are coming along. Hang in there. BTW, you look great!
Im glad you're feeling better. I was hyper, I did the raidoactive iodine treatment, now I'm hypo. I"m on 125 MCG of Synthroid, and I seem to be doing ok - I see my doctor next week for a check up. I guess I've been luckier than most with this. Still sucks to have a "condition" and to have to take meds everyday, but I'm looking at it as a blessing with a price, as I was able to lose over 40 pounds while I was hyper, and I've fluctuated a bit while hypo, but I've been able to lose weight.
@goodgriefyou I think weight management is going to be one of my hardest battles with it all. Luckily I am on a monitored plan so slowly weight it coming off.
I feel like you are telling my story! Than you for your video! I have so many questions for you. I will have to get back to it though. Please keep making videos. Right now I am 17 weeks pregnant with our second and have underactive thyroid and pre diabetes. I grew up and was totally healthy and an athlete when I started gaining weight. I am struggling really really really bead with anxiety right now and can't take rx for it. I will share your video so my in-laws know what I am going through.
@heatherlycke feel free to message me anytime, there are a few things in the next few months I want to do vids on.. like tiredness, hairloss, weightloss... so many things now that I am on the up I really want to talk about
I was so happy to see you again. I am glad you are doing better. I don't know if you remember me but I was a sub of yours back when you started on the YouTube weight loss group. I have a underactive thyroid too. After watching this I think I will go back to the doctor again. I still don't feel right. I have not lost any weight. It gave me hope to hear you feel better. Thank you so much.

Bless your heart! I am up to 225mcg Levo -- it's been and up and down cycle. The headaches are horrible. I'm so glad you are starting to feel better. I was on 150 mcg and had a crash and burn (as I call it) move me up to 200mcg and now again up to 225 (the weight gain has been horrible on my body) -- I just feel as though no matter what I do -- it's just not enough. I feel my health slipping away and I'm reaching for it but it seems so far away. Glad to see you back!
