@Ariehuisje Personally, never had any liking, nor really understood the fanfaggory for Jimi Hendrix. I mean, I understand that he has a free-in (like the Beatles & Rolling Stones) but meh, never really liked his material; Kirk I enjoy. I don't really know, for me it's not about who was *first* to be recognizably good, it's who serves my ear the most enjoyment. That being said, in my opinion Herman&Sam are the best guitarists of all time. I'm interested to see what anyone else thinks, respond? :)

@RiouInsuiko Well- If you enjoy Kirk, Herman and Sam, you're undoubtedly a mainstream listener, but what the hell.

You might enjoy Steve Vai, John Petrucci or Joe Satriani, or Paul Gilbert.

Jimi Hendrix is respected for 3 things,

1. His ideas about music.

2. His free interest in sound, being Trippy, or Rocking, or downright strange.

3. The fact that he played this kind of music WAY THE HELL back when.

@ShadowLancer128 I enjoy listening to them, sure. Do I generally listen to Metallica? No, hardly at all - would I consider Dragonforce mainstream? Arguably, at a point they were highly unrecognized, but after those Guitar Hero games they've defenitly gotten more attention. I do enjoy Gilbert and Vai, but I dislike Petrucci and am indiffrent on the style of Satriani. When someone completely discredits Sam&Herman over other guitarists like Jimi, it's beyond ignorant, even if being an opinion.

I love that there are three versions of this song. The demo version, the album version, and of course the new 2010 version. I'm used to the album version so I notice every subtle difference. Listening to the other versions is SO refreshing.
