I don't like that XTS. It's all wheel drive which is expensive to maintain, and it's a 300 horsepower V6. They want to compete with BMW and MERCEDES, we need a 400 horsepower V8. I might grab one myself, but I have to see it live. They do have a hybrid version with 350 horsepower V6, but I like V8's.

@TylerTron21 Between 2000 and 2005 their were three different trim levels of the Deville. The starting level was the base Deville, the mid level Dhs, and the top trim level Dts, the dts models have the shifter on the floor while the other two trim models have the shifter on the steering wheel column. To this day even though I have other cars the Dts is still my favorite, it never gave me any problems.

@TylerTron21 Any DTS with the shifter on the steering column has to be a base model 2006 to 2010 model, because after 2005 Cadillac made all Devilles into dts's.

I brought my car in 2004, it was a certified pre-owned still under warranty in excellent condition. My car never gave me a problem because I stick to the maintenance schedule, which for a car of this type it's inexpensive.
@cyclonuswalker, that's what scares me about these cars. I know many people who have got 200k or close to it on their Northstars (mostly from the most problematic era of '96-'99 too!) and still drive the car everyday with no issues. I also read horror stories. I am fairly sure that if you get your fluids flushed every 3 years or 50k then you will not have any problems with the engine, but buying a higher mileage, older used car, you never know what was done and what wasn't.

Is this Lac a special edition or something? Its got the shifter in the console. Ive been looking for a DTS with the shifter in the console, but I cant find one! The only ones I can find are with the shifter attached to the steering wheel.
No it's not a special edition, the Dts was the top option level for the Deville line and it's performance model. The base deville and Dhs models came with the shifter on the steering wheel, while the Dts came with the shifter on the floor.

The main difference between the Deville and the Dts is engine tuning and suspension setup.
The Base level Deville is tuned to 275hp but the Dts is tuned 300hp with performance magnetic ride control road sensing suspension. The Dts also has uplevel luxury options not available on the Deville

The main difference between the Deville and the Dts is engine tuning and suspension setup.
The Base level Deville is tuned to 275hp but the Dts is tuned 300hp with performance magnetic ride control road sensing suspension. The Dts also has uplevel luxury options not available on the Deville
