To get rid of tearing people turn on Vsync but then Vsync causes major mouse lag and rotation lag. Again if you are not a gamer don't worry.

If your CRT only was doing 50fps you might not see a difference. I use to compete in Q2CTF and had to run 90 to 120 fps to play my best. I only knew because I experimented. Guys on my team had me tweak their settings. We ended up #1 some was settings some skill.

Some don't notice some do. Don't feel you have to get 120hz to play good. Its a real difference but vs the money and the fact some people might not get the WOW effect.

Your 60,000:1 is dynamic contrast, not native. Dynamic contrast is fake contrast, and native is real contrast, and 1000:1 native contrast is really good.

you need to buy a vga cable from gamestop or bestbuy check it out, and its about 50 dollars. the most common setup for viewsonic users are the 360, vga cable, and your own speakers or headset. figure it out

3Dvision sucks unless you have mad specs or downgrade the graphics. 3dvision works by reproducing two 60Hz images on a 120Hz monitor, which is like playing two games at the same time on a monitor...
the whole concept is a pretty nice gimicky but is not suitable for hard core gamers. the reason is because the video cards have to work twice as card to produce 2 pictures instead of 1.

You might not if the CRT was set to 60hz. You have to force it higher, the windows default on any monitor is 60hz.
I game on LCDs, have one that does 60 and one that does 75hz. The 75hz LCD has noticably less tearing in games.
Have not tried a 120Hz LCD, don't think I'll get the Viewsonic now, it has the 120hz mode locked in SUPER bright w no adjustment.
They do that for the 3d glasses which is fine but not fine for non 3d games.

yeah hmmm i looked at mine when i got it . mine is a bit differant , for example the stand is shorter so its lower to the table and its 2ms response time but not 3d but it is full hd with built in speakers but there horrible, everything else is the same.

ok,first of all,for ppl hating,those guys are giving promotions to products in their store, they have to talk big because they get paid to do so.
About the TV, did you guys saw how his fingerprints got all over the plastic? amazing quality!
3D Tech is great but right now a complete waste of time because not everyone uses it.maybe in 3-5 yrs Its very pricey. I bought a Samsung with 20,000:1 and 2 ms response, way better than this for less than half the price of this. Overall,not that great!

3Dvision sucks unless you have mad specs or downgrade the graphics. 3dvision works by reproducing two 60Hz images on a 120Hz monitor, which is like playing two games at the same time on a monitor...

the whole concept is a pretty nice gimicky but is not suitable for hard core gamers. the reason is because the video cards have to work twice as card to produce 2 pictures instead of 1.

not really b/c if you have high end graphics cards you get well over 100+ fps and at 60 hz the framerate is wasted but it can be used at 120HZ
