A perfect end to the primetime Millionaire. The old host and the new host face-to-face, Regis playing for charity on a question about Millionaire's history, and the first ever million-dollar loss.

However, Regis did make a mistake. He was actually there for 9 millionaires, not 8. After Bernie Cullen became the show's 8th winner just after Kevin Olmstead, Ed Toutant was invited back to the show after losing on a bad $16,000 question in his initial run, and he came back to win the million.

Ironically enough, Kelly Ripa (I believe) and Kathie Lee Gifford were also celebrity contestants on ABC's Millionaire. And (I think) Al Roker was a guest host on the syndicated version.
