  • If any of you actually knew anything about the Cheesefrog k20, it handled 30+ psi on the stock k20. It took 41 psi under "unfavorable conditions" to drop a piston. No matter how you look at it, that's pretty impressive.

  • @omegax05 It takes a swap to run 10.5's on a hatch all motor, you run the same engine on their true platform Civic SI and will never run those times EVER!. Is because of the power to weight ratio relation, not because of the engine. K20 is a great all motor engine I have built a couple myself. But please get the facts right and knowledge to understand the reason why a hatch runs so fast on a K20/24 swap. Real MAN builds what ever they want, a decision of their own regardless of youre opinion..

  • @rb26dett32 LOL!!! I run 12's on a F23/h2b hybrid motor with only external boltons and slicks. Still 91 octane, still 30mpg, and zero drive ability problems. I spend less then 4 grand on the motor it self. If I built up the head with a p&p sk2 stg3 valve train and ran 12.5-1 comp, I'd be running low 11, high 10's on E85. All in a stripped EG hatch. Your just madd because the more power you make, the more problems come up. Let me know when ur mani cracks, overboost, or blown motor happens.

  • 520 on 33 pounds of boost??? I'm at 660 in my H on 16lbs. That does add up, stock compression of a K-Series motor is adequate to the point where u don't have to run high boost for such astronomical numbers, 33pounds of boost and ONLY get 5? SOmething isn't right..

For the rest of you? this engine....is STOCK!!! They where testing it to see what it could handle.   • It looks to me that they were TRYING to blow that engine apart! NO gas engine is going to stand up to 42psi of boost for long! I wouldent run a stock rsx engine much past 10 psi.... remember its got 11:1 compression ratio. If you want to run 42psi then just get a turbo diesel.

    Just that little extra torque that you have to wring out of a 4 banger isn't worth the aggravation and all the extra parts.

    Bottom line is you need to race modified 4bangers against v8's to make ANY headroom. PLENTY of boost can be run in V8s. But hey, 325mph is slow in the 1/4

  • He didn't intend to, bro. His wastegate wasn't functioning properly. What happens is the wastegate will wait until a set boost level is reached, and then to keep it there and not go higher, it allows more of the exhaust to escape from the turbo....therefore keeping it from spooling harder.

    You just witnessed wastegate failure on a big turbo....so it boosted way higher than the driver wanted and more than the engine could handle.

    Think about it these K's EASILY make 220-225 NA, using typical formula's for the B engine you double the HP with 14.5psi of boost, the K is more effecient than the B so you do the math.
