  • I remember watching this video on MuchMusic back in the 80's when I lived in Canada.

  • 80s' FTW

  • Wow, just read all the comments going back about 5 years, and of course they all have the same theme. The guys were gorgeous, the song was great, and apparently their hair was of great note. I remember them as the guys in high school that everyone had a crush on, and they looked and sounded the same back in the mid '70's when I attended Banting. Always loved this song...and would tell my kids I went to school with them every time it came on the radio.

  • We just had Christ Partland play at our bar in Burlington last weekend - he was amazing!! He's coming back Jan 7th. Carrigan Arms....check him out - he put on a great show!!

  • This song breaks anything from the past 20 years! Damn you 80s!! Get outta my head.

  • this POS song is in my head today for some reason :/

  • Chris Partland still does play, not sure about his brother though. I had the privilage to play with Chris a few years ago at a local bar. He is still a super guy and is still rockin'. He lives in Ontario Canada.

  • good music, gone are the days when we had sober minded musicians.

  • I actually have this on CD. Picked it up on bargain rack in 1990.

  • heard this once back in the day, didn't appreciate it then, cuz i was on adifferent musical path than pop rock, but now that i go back and re-listen, this is really a great song.

  • Thats a hit song right there. David Macmillan says so.

  • The Partlands hit #27 in Billboard, 6-27-87. BTW, what does the 'G,P,' stand for? God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • @DaveWollenberg >>> "G P" George Partland

  • @bootsie37 You must be a fan of 'em. Thanx for lettin' me know. God bless ya, for that. Have a blessed week!

  • love the hair

  • I love these guys. All these years later, Electric Honey is still one of my favorite albums. Aren't these guys still appearing on stage now and then? I'd have to pinch myself awake if I could see them live one day....

  • The arrangement in this song is flawless and this coming from a 22 yr old!!

  • gee...i remember listen them on cftr in toronto ...great song....

  • Cool. I had no idea these guys were Canadian.

  • I thought this song was great, so great in fact, that I bought the album (on casette)... Canadian bands in the 80s had something (not better) that was QUITE different from US bands... though I'm not exactly sure what is was...

  • Soul Cit Thats Where We're Headed :)

  • andrewcbro - I'm there!... one thing, how about the cowboy boots?? I adore this song! Second best car candy I've every heard. Seriously, I still listen to it. My husband bore a striking resemblance to BOTH of them. Gee, that sounded..anyway, this is still getting hits so CARRY ON!

  • love the hair.... sadly MOST people in east London<Ontario are still rocking it ;((

  • @andrewcbro it had nothing to do with CJBK and CKSL playing it allll the time .... it's a great song :)

  • @andrewcbro Try going to Northern Ontario...The mullet is still in fashion!

  • @andrewcbro LOL so true ;) I'm from Kitchener so I'm just out of that geographcal (hairstyle) area ;)

  • Memories....

3 songs which always stop me in my tracks and make me listen:

Hot Rod Hearts - Rob Dupree

    Thunder island - Jay Ferguson

    Soul City - Partland Brothers

"Remember how you drove me crazy - remember how I made you scream"

    The Boys of Summer

  • They're going to Soul City. I'll be damn.

  • They do sound great to this day...........takes me back to a cool time in my life - high school, big hair, rock n'roll in its heyday!

  • @seanthepatient I hear ya'...this song always got airplay on Chum FM...

  • canadian men are so beautiful. damn!!

  • And they sound great to this day...

  • I was hooked on this song when I watched the movie "hello mary lou prom night 2".. great movie, even better tune:)

  • A definite hit for summer this just had that kind of sound to it.

  • Another one on my list of Hits That Should've Been. I don't remember this being so synthesized, but it was the 80s after all. Right now, I think this sounds like a crux between the BoDeans, the Rembrandts & Corey Hart.

  • This is an awesome song

  • KICK ASS TUNE, CRANK THAT SUCKER TO TEN!!!

  • Hit #27 in the US (Billboard). How'd it do in Canada? God bless!

  • Nice harmonies

  • love that convertible...buick?

  • @jjpeterson1 It's a 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass or F-85 which is the same thing.....

  • This song brings back memories. I always think of my childhood in 86' while growing up in Cornwall, Ontario and the fun I had that summer. Things were so much easier and much more simple. This song always takes me back to that time when I hear it. I love it,

  • I still have this Album .Classic is an understatement !

  • What happened with music today? THIS, is music. I really hope to see some artists come to their senses and realize that this genre and style of music never dies! Beautiful song!

  • Always good times when headed to Seoul city...That's where my Tae-Kwon-Do Master was dancing and singing till damn. He didn't back when the money was gone... Seriously though, this song did mark the hearts of the 80's and 90's beating together, and we still do today.*

*When this comment was posted we as a human race we at our furthest point in history.

  • This song is soooo Nostalgic for me! My mom had a home video made of my sister and me when I was only 3 and she 1, back in 88, of us just fooling around and playing and stuff and this song is in the background!

I really wish I could have experienced the 80ies more, I was only born in 85 but the brief memories i have from the late 80ies were so much fun!

  • 99.5 in Indianapolis also played the crap out of this song.

Song just vanished one day and had not heard it for years until today on a re-run of the June 12 1987 top 40.

  • Too bad WZPL plays nothing but crap now. I remember hearing this song growing up on there, good memories. I have this song on cassette and couldn't for the life of me remember who did this. Thanks to person who posted the video. One of my favorite songs of the 80's.

  • They are brothers - the Partland brothers. They come from a small town near Alliston and there are more brothers equally talented. I saw Chris - the one with the earings on - onthe right about a year ago. He is still playing the bars and night clubs and is still easy on the eyes. I went to high school with him.
