car looks good though.. i mean theres no such thing as a del sol type R but it definately looks good.. the exhaust note is too raspy in my opinion though
ps i love mine, its the 1.5vxi (130bhp) model. 0-60 8.7 and top speed 118mph and its L reg and standard. only got it 2 months ago, did santa pod with some other honda guys near me. had a great day out! a must do for all petrol heads!!
there is a type R delsol, just not known as a type R as they did not come up with the name till after they released the delsol and vtec became standard a bit more 1996 on i think, but the crx in genaral was ahead of its time as was the CBR1000 bike they made, the fastest bike at the time when the RR came out! in 1995 honda just got very clever with they designs and engineering in genaral!

You obviously dont know how Honda design their engines. Honda engines revs alot to produce power, meaning repetition of the upward and downward cycle of the pistons.
In this increased rates, the normal rate of lubrication for the piston walls (under normal conditions) now becomes insufficient or a higher risk or insufficient lubrication (as well as cooling).
Honda incorporated oil squirters in vtec mode to ensure protection hence the smoke.

Normal people see smoke (big problem). Honda engineers see protection (no problem).
Honda engineers know best. After all they have designed F1 engines that rev a heck of a lot higher than this yet be extremely durable.

It sounds nice. As the revs rise there is no drone or ever increasing vibration noise.
Each to their own but to me personally a bad exhaust is one that has too much drone, or low tone.

some people consider that the VTI Del Sol (DOHC - 160hp) is the Type R model ..well ..I've seen Del Sols with the red "H" ..as type R
